How much is your budget? Are you getting floorstanders or bookshelfs? Actually I'm also in the market for new speakers. And I'm looking at the B&W 685 as my replacements. But I'm still looking at other brands and models.

I really want to get the Denon 1909 ..Maybe in a couple of months.

Im recommending this as I got yammy 663 and I still swap it with this model.  663 may have advantage for movies but overall I find 1909 the best for its range. Really balance for both movies and music.

before deciding on the b&w 685 come check out the polk rti series. they've been compared favorably by a number of my clients and you'll save some money pa. they match well with the denon 1909. come over to my showroom to check them out.

the things i've read here and in other forums, they say it is better to get the 9cm instead of the cs if you're planning to get wharfe floorstanders. para di maoverpower daw yung center. don't know if this info is useful to you.

the denon 1909 is the cheapest denon model to have hdmi for audio and video and can decode the new HD audio formats. i can give you a good deal on one if you want.

i can give you a good deal on the wharfs. selling the 9.5 for only 12k, 9cs for 4.3k and 9.1 for 5.3k. can give a little bit more discount if you get the whole set with a sub. you might also want to consider the polk m series. price is not that far off from the wharf but it sounds better. at least to my ears. i have a both sets in my showroom if you want to check it out.

when I hooked this avr to my gears..all smiles na lang ako while watching..just a big grin to my face..

dynamic volume ok for movies..iba yung tunog nya pag naka off..although mas ok na sa akin yung naka off..too boomy for my taste so hinihinaan ko volume and na ddefeat dialogue..

anyawy happy owner here 

isa pa pala sa 1909..so volume lang madalas magamit dun sa front remote db..kasi pag switch ako sa HDMI2 or HDP..kelangan is yung sa rear remote pa ang pindutin?

Congrats on your receiver. Pwede gamitin yung buttons sa harap. You can even program the quick select buttons to select a source with your desired settings (vol., surround mode, etc...). Medyo mahirap lang kasi gamitin kasi yung manual hindi masyado helpful.

i think you have to set the dvd player audio out. usually may 3 choices sa audio output: dts, DD and stereo, aside from the different languages

set your dvd player to output dolby digital and dts in bitstream format. that way, your receiver will do the decoding.
