My budget is around 40k. I'm leaning towards an AV receiver since it will be used for both movies and music.

Try to audition Denon or Marantz

Was able to audition the Studio 20, interestingly the vocal sounded more neutral with the grilles on. but overall; detailed neutral sound and impressive dynamic lows.

it should match quite well with marantz receivers.

marantz sr5007 retails for only 44k. definitely less than 40k after discount.

yaman pala ni sir makmak hehe.. anyway I'm now leaning towards NAD integrated amp. may na try ako sa SnS 50watts ung amp, i think it's 326BEE. Ganda ng tunog. Pero ngiisip pa rin ako kung mas ok ang higher wattage na amp since floorstander ung speakers ko.

Haven't heard of NAD paired with Monitor series. But I've heard Rotel with my previous Monitor 7 v6. For me a bit bright with Rotels. Pero sa Denon (avr), medyo warm to neutral yung combo. Madali naman idrive yung Monitor sir, 50w amp will suffice unless you have a big room and you like to crank up the volume

Marantz and paradigm is just way-way too bright for me...

Sir mas high end yung Studios mo :p Hmmm I always thought Marantz and Denon tend to be on warm side so Im surprised you find it bright $:-\$

Good evening mga sir. I just want to ask your opinion regarding the HT setup that my wife and I are planning to get. Actually, I am torn between Paradigm and B&W (600 series) because the Paradigms seem to sound better for movies while the B&Ws sound better when you listen to music in my humble opinion. $:-\$

Application for the setup will definitely be 50/50 movies and music. We are currently leaning to get a Paradigm/Marantz combination since the wifey likes them better. The specific gears are as follows:

Paradigm Monitor 11 (Front Pair)
Paradigm Monitor 3 (Center)
Paradigm Surround 1 (Surround Pair)
Paradigm DSP3200 (Sub)
Marantz SR6008

Any pros and cons that you guys see with the setup above? Do you guys think Paradigms would be performing better than B&Ws (exact counterparts in the 600 series) using the same receiver? Hope you guys can give us some insights. Thanks in advance!

Thanks so much for the input sir. Would you know the equivalent of the Marantz sr6008 with Denon, NAD, or Anthem? How much are they? If given the choice, which among the 3 would you choose to power the Paradigm 5.1 setup?

Sir kung kaya mo anthem, anthem nalang. anthem mrx300 gamit ko with paradigm monitor 7v7 with center 3 ganda ng combo.

Anthem din ang gusto ko, iba daw kasi yung ARC compared to Audyssey, mas maganda daw. Tska match talaga ang Anthem at Paradigm (di kaya dahil sister company sila hmm)

I think the MRX 300 is around 60K, the Mrx 500 is around 80K and the MRX 700 is around 115K

Best thing with Anthem is the ARC. You can find a good location for your speakers and sub using quick measure before you finally run the ARC and provide a better solution for your speaker/sub setup. And Anthem is continously updating their software to fix some bugs. Recently they posted the updated softwares for their products.

Just checked Anthem's website and they already have the new mrx series namely the 310, 510, and 710. Im not sure though if those AVRs are readily available here in the country already. I would assume that their prices would be a bit steeper compared with the previous models. The new MRX series also features the newer ARC 1M which is quite interesting. Will definitely dropby Spectra again to check if they already have the new MRX series and audition them with the paradigm monitors. The only problem for me for sure is the big price difference of the mrx510 compared with marantz sr6008, mainly because of the 7.1 channel option.

Now I'm afraid to listen to the Monitor 9s, hahaha
at baka maiuwi ng wala sa oras,... The Monitor 7 surprised me,
I was expecting a lack of bass or even mid bass, pero nagulat kami ng magbigay sya ng bass,
its tight and precise, in layman's terms kumpleto ang tunog nya, which was really surprising in a very good way, akala ko may bitin sa bass, I was wrong, seemed I under estimated these babies,...
