Looks like the local r3 will also get a giftset version of this film.

The contents looks similar to the R1 version but not sure:

Astrovision is taking preorders now at 2,300 Php for the giftset and 895 Php for DVD (2-Discs) only.

Last day of preorder is October 9. Release date is October 10, 2006.

Preordering will net you a 500-piece Da Vinci Code puzzle.

Preordering requires a down payment of Php 200 (yata).

Wonder if PinoyDVD.biz will also have the same offer.

Despite this sounding like an official announcement, I am not connected in any way to Magnavision, Astrovision, or PinoyDVD.biz

In fairness, they did release a good Spiderman 2 giftset in 2004. Hopefully, the Philippine release of the Da Vinci Code Giftset would be as good.

Yup. Magna releases Universal and Sony DVD's among others. The Universal releases, I generally stay away from. But their Sony releases (not the Budget Editions) are alright, packaging-wise.

Packaging of Sony releases are generally OK except for the Memoirs of a Geisha CE wrinkled plastics inside the pink boxes. Hopefully, that's the last.

Yup this is a confirmed release. Btw, this is similar to Sony's deluxe boxes for Spider-Mans 1 & 2 which were full import products from abroad. Production of the R3 sets is directly under Sony so what you see in other online stores is what we'll get here.

I just noticed from the disc-only poster that there are hidden messages in the DVD packaging that will lead to exclusive online content. I wonder, since the artwork for the disc-only DVD and the LE DVD are different, will there also be secret messages on the DVD packaging of the LE?

now it's an easier choice, pinoydvd.biz (or astrovision) is the way to go.... an imported dvd gift set maybe the same manufacturer as the ones being sold by yesasia.
so magnavision packaging is out of the question (YES!)
500 piece puzzle is another plus, if done ka na sa puzzle you can have it framed and display it.

They're already accepting reservations here in Pampanga. Kaya papareserve na ako bukas. Hehe! I actually liked the movie, so this is a must buy for me.
