I demoed the aegis evo one and compared them side by side with the ma b2s, using an hk 330 as the amplifier. I find the aegis evo one to have a smoother midrange and highs compared to the B2. Some may not like the highs of the evo one because its kinda rolled off so I understand where those who say they don't find the evo one accurate enough.

However these babies image well, B2 may have more bass but subjectively for me the way the highs and midrange that are projected through the evo one compensates for that. I just have to audition another pair of bookshelves and then take it from there...but definitely the evo one is on my shortlist. just my two pisos

i spent quite a while at architectural audio earlier listening to the AE out of the box, and i'd share the same observations as john5479 as the mids and highs sounded a lot smoother than the MA B2. rolled off? not so sure if i can call it that, but i'd take it any day than the splattered highs of the B2. i find it a bit dry though.

Tried the older AEGIS 1 with some fisher tube gear..well the highs were very very rolled off.. there were some detail/instruments that you could barely hear out of the combination which was present in other systems...

last tuesday, i auditioned the floorstander and sub of AE at Architectural Audio, and i am very impress with the sound of these speakers. Very warm and pleasant listening to it. even at high volumes, di ka magsasawa pakinggan....

even at high volume, nakakapag-usap kami ni nico ng maayos.... para nga ayokong pumasok nun kasi sarap makinig ng music...

and the sub sounds bigger than it looks... very very musical, makes me think to upgrade my sub

btw, it was connected to the hk 130, galing ng combo ng HK/AE... mukhang idadagdag ko itong speakers sa wishlist ko along with a new dvd player (nagpaparamdam na ng kapalit yung player ko)....

my next audition would be hearing the counterpart of the B2 and to try it out with movies...

guys, audition it there... ganda ng tunog...

it is worth the trip...

got a chance to audition a pair at megamall last tuesday...very descent detail , uncluttered on the hi's and mids

.vocals are soulfull

..a slight drawback would be the bass..parang nahihiya lang yung kick nung drummer

but an evo sub(or any music friendly sub) would be fill the gap

..or the floorstader model siguro

......spectra also has a pair on demo

..selling @12++++

Pareho tayo ng impression, yesterday I visited Arch. Audio & all I can say is ganda din. Look a like na look ng B4 ko kaya lng mas maganda un lagayan ng spikes ng AE.

Mas composed sya tumunog pero gusto ko parin syempre B4 ko sa ngayon hehehehe....

Actually hindi sila nagkakalayo, kung baga eh head to head sila. I love my B4 pare!

Pero maganda din AE specially paired it w/ HK AVR. I heard it using HK 330 yesterday ganda & un nga, mas parang fuller & composed un sound, parang B4 din.

for me the diff. between the ma bronze and evo series is the highs, the bronze sound better sa movies but sa music i prefer the evo's. just my 1 piso

I tried auditioning the AE at Architectural. The only thing I can say is ang ganda ng sound. Highly recommended for speaker hunters. Before buying a Mon Audio, give this speaker a chance. just my 1 cent.
