I was in high school when this came out, and those who hated the show would pick on us who just loved the show. I guess its a divide that persists to this day - those who enjoy seeing others make fools out of themselves, and those who don't.

This must be the granddaddy, or at least, the elder brother of the current Reality TV craze in the STates.

I just want to ask what reality game show do you watch takeshi castle or crystal maze?I refer takeshi castele rather tahn Crystal maze because thethe games are funny (for me) crystal maze well I like the game but it a little bit boaring but its educational

Smokey Manaloto can actually pass for Beat Takeshi's son.

Wild ,woolly and wonderful Japanese weirdness , this is the kind of offbeat sensibility that made me fall madly in love with Japanese pop culture. A million times more interesting than any American reality show, in my book. Ponjaps lang ang makakaisip nito, altho mas marami pa silang show na mas malala.

Hard to believe this is the same Takeshi who directed Hana-bi.

Its still beat Takeshi, but I dunno if it was like years ago broadcast in Japan?

The Takeshi in Takeshi's Castle is Beat Takeshi (or Kitano, whatever you want to call that Jap actor) who is one popular dude in his country. Starred in a number of films (Battle Royale, Gonin) and directed a handful (Hana-bi, Serpent's Path, Zatoichi, Sonatine, Kikujiro, Kid's Return).

Naalala ko pa ito. Sa channel 13 yata ito pinapalabas dati. Maliit pa ako nun kaya di ko maintindihan ang mga nangyayari. Mukhang chaotic ang mga challenges. Akala ko nga dati sina Anjo at Smokey talaga ang mga orig na characters sa show na ito. Even Ultraman makes a hefty appearance.

I loved this show when I was a kid. And now it's back! Monday to Fridays at 8pm on Qtv.
Everybody I know was excited for tonight's premiere episode. Until we found out who the host was - Joey de Leon. Ugh. He is the most annoying person on tv today, imo.

So the first episode airs and unfortunately, we all expected way too much. Dont get me wrong, the games I still love. But the hosts - Joey de Leon and some other person were NOT FUNNY. AT ALL. And they got more airtime than the actual games! Which is sad, really. I've been wanting a Takeshi's revival all my life but definitely not like this.

And another bad thing - they're splitting up an entire episode so they can show it the entire week!

ngek, ay korni nga kasi kaya pala mahaba ang exposure ng hosts e stretched yung episode. sana nga kinuha nila si anjo at smokey. i'm sure they could find time in their uh, busy schedules to do this!

I remember Anjo Yllana and Smokey Manoloto did a great job hosting the show when it first aired on Channel 13. Their in-between stuff are almost as funny (in some cases even just as funny and funnier) as the games.

Joey deleon and the other person keep on ruining the show! They have more airtime than the games and they're not even funny!! AT ALL!!
