V for Vendetta. Nice film. cool PQ. impressive surround sound (even though im using xbox360 addon). HD DVD will win the HD format war. FYI 'Planet Earth'  HD DVD version is now in the top 5 under top sellers section of Amazon.com. Goodbye bluray!

Planet Earth - The Complete BBC Series [HD DVD] is down to rank no. 7 na.

However, it's still rank no. 1 for "Top 100 Combined Best Sellers @ Apr 17 2007 10:00AM" :)

Called in sick yesterday so I got the chance to slouch and watch Neo in HD.   Kapal ng foundation ni Trinity but she's burning hot than ever in HD!   Stunning!  Now I think I'm even more sick sa hangover.  Nakakahilo :)

My heart is neutral and I expect the POTC BD quality to be same, but since I don't want to spend $400 for a PS3 yet, then I am going to spend 1,800 Yen to watch Johnny Depp in "4K Pure Cinema" quality tomorrow in Roppongi's Virgin Toho Cinema.   Yes Bros, that's 4096 x 2160 pixel digital version of the latest POTC.  That's 4x the current-gen full HD resolution.  So visitors in Tokyo or Osaka, it's kinda pricey compared to theater tickets in the Philippines, but I think it's worth the dinero.  This cinema experience is not yet available in any other country (yet), me thinks.

Actually, I'm not that interested in POTC per se (mid-life crisis no doubt) but I'm itchin like hell to closely scrutinize 4K Pure Cinema quality, that I expect not to understand the film at all.  :)

I suggest those who intend to buy any tittle from the HDscape series should at least browse tru this cheap sampler (only $5) before spending $20 or more on any tittle.  ::)

PaybacK: Straight Up Director's Cut (HD DVD)

A new take from the original director.  But I prefer the version I have seen before.  This one leaves the plot hanging.  Just average PQ in my opinion.

The Matrix (HD DVD)

Whoa!!!!    Whew!!!!!    WOW!!!!!

This should be the top HD title for me now!!  Exag???   Not by an inch.

Where should I start?

The opening Trinity Eagle pose scene.

The training programs scenes.

The lobby shooting spree.

The rooftop bullet time scene.

The helicopter rescue scenes.

The Subway duel.

(Morpheus potholes...check too)

(Trinity's luscious red lips...check again!!)

All these validates the PQ and AQ rating of perfect 5 and more.    Watched this with my friends and we cant help but be amazed with what we were watching.   And we were doing running commentary too with all the little details we were noticing (mostly on Trinity of course...).

Great job Warner........

Great job HD DVD!!!  ;D ;D

Next stop.......The Matrix again.  but this time with In-Movie-Experience.  ;)

Matrix Reloaded (HD DVD)

Though the film pales in comparison with the first one plot-wise......as a HT buff, I second highdef's 5/5 PQ and AQ rating.  Pleased with Dolby TrueHD......the over the top action sequences were all in their highdef audio glory.  ;D ;D

Pirates of the Carribean (The Curse of the Black Pearl)(Blu-ray)

Whoa!!  This one goes  no.1 on my BD titles and top-tier on any format.  Color is spot on, deep blacks...and the three dimensionality is in full effect........Unfortunately, I still have no hdmi equipped AVR so I didnt have lossless sound....but the DD soundtrack on this title is no slouch either.... ;D ;D

Matrix Revolutions (HD DVD)

The action scenes may be too much, particularly the Neo-Agent Smith final duel, but it cant look better than this.  The  battle of Zion stands out too......... ;D ;D

Pirates of the Carribean (Dead Man's Chest)

Great PQ!!  And superb audio too during the Kraken scenes......the Pirates duo are definitely top-tiers in any format....... ;D
