Aviator

Very good film. Love it, despite the length. Great acting by DiCaprio and a solid supporting cast. PQ is superb. Rich, deep hues and colors all throughout.

I Am Legend

Despite some negative reviews, I thought this was an entertaining movie and a fine entry into the post-apocalyptic genre. Glad that I held off buying the DVD and just watched it now in BD. Reference quality PQ and SQ. Crisp details scene after scene.

Minority Report

It's a good Spielberg movie but I wouldn't say one of his best. Still entertaining though after several viewings. Despite a grainy look even in BD, this is the best I've seen MR. Receiving a "Spielberg approved HD master" which means PQ was enhanced for HD, I'd say it was okay but not really spectacular. There were some scenes that truly popped out from my screen but the rest are grainy which is really intentional on the part of Spielberg. Sound is fantastic and the extras are aplenty. You can already donate your DVD copy for this BD

The Echo

Directed by Yam Laranas and co-starring Iza Calzado alongside Jesse Bradford. Being a fan of pinoy talents, this one's a blind buy for me. This is actually the hollywood version of "Sigaw" ( I guess "The Echo" sounds better than "The Shout" right?

) Movie was okay. Nothing great but not bad either. Plot was that of ordinary horror films. But it had some very spooky scenes that made me and wife cringe so, yeah, that's good enough. Where the BD shines is the technical aspect! PQ is very good. Seeing Iza Calzado in hi-def is cool. SQ is astounding too. The enveloping spooky sound effects are really really scary. If not for Yam and Iza, I would not have bought this. But I'm glad I did because of them. Mabuhay ang Pinoy talents!

Get Smart

Very entertaining. The whole family enjoyed especially my son who was so engrossed with Steve Carrell's antics. Fun movie indeed that warrants multiple viewings. Great PQ and SQ. BD comes with a separate DVD game that we haven't played yet.
