Back To The Future (1)
Not very pleased that the aspect ratio is 16:9 full screen but nonetheless, this is certainly fine looking for a 25-year old movie and I can just imagine how awesome the image would have been if the aspect ratio is something like 1:2.35. One thing the BD version reveals is the strong make-up foundation of the actor and actresses - di pala magaling yung make-up artist nung time na yon - hehehe. The aging effects on the actors' necks and face were pretty grotesque - especially dun sa kalbong school master and the Doc himself. The dark scenes are pretty impressive. For instance, the wet parking area where they conducted the Delorean's first run is really dark and detailed.
I dont know if it's the limitation of my old AVR with regard to DTS-HD, but the SQ is rather thin especially on the climactic scenes. I was hoping the Huey Lewis song in the beginning would have been more boomy and funky - or perhaps I simply need a better sub.
But it was NICE to be reminded of the 80s again and the original actress who portayed Marty' love interest was hot.
