The Phantom (2009 Mini Series)

Having followed the Phantom series since I was a kid, I have every right to hate this overhauled, remodelled, refashioned version of "The Ghost who Walks" from Bengalla Island. Seems like a bastardization and a blasphemy for Phantom purists, including me. BUT, guess what : I enjoyed it, despite being a silly and overly campy show. I mean, I caught myself shaking my head in utter disbelief (WTF?) many times on the show's "stupidity" but I have to admit, I enjoyed it ( is there something wrong with me?

Technically, the BD shines. The 1:78:1 aspect ratio fills up your HDTV wonderfully. PQ is of reference quality from start to finish. Colors, flesh tones, deep blacks, you name it. Audio also rocks, with some very fine alternative soundtrack to boot.

I Am Number Four

-Nonstop action. Effects were just awesome. Number Six is one bad ass biker chick who saved the day. This beats the crap out of Twilight. PQ and AQ is simply amazing. Ok I get it...it's produced by Michael Bay.

I can watch this again and again in HD glory. Must have a sequel though to answer a lot of questions about the movie.
