From Friday To Sunday

Hansel & Gretel 2013: Very colorful and sharp PQ with loud and clear SQ, very popcorn story and rather short. I simply kept on hoping for more skin from Gretel - her legs look very creamy indeed.

Lore 2013: In German, very very dull PQ, very little dialogue (but it was approriate to the circumstances - there was not much to say and talk about) very sad, very slow but very good story. This type of movie may not be for everybody but Im a sucker for all kinds of human drama revolving around WWII. Beautiful looking young-German actress.

Killing Lincoln 2013: Nothing new if you have read or watched enough about Lincoln's assasination - made for TV documentary that was just released in BluRay

Philadelphia 1993: I cant recall the last time I watched this movie - still a very compelling story that kept me slouched on the sofa. BluRay transfer is quite fair as well - heard this is currently in limited release - maybe.

Robin Hood: Men in Tights

Probably the best release of the box, audio and video is best so far for this title and of the whole box set. It also carries over the great LD commentary by Mel Brooks.

MIB 3

The PQ / AQ ratings of 5/5 for this BD are spot on. Seems that Sony BD's (even DVD's in the past) are of better quality than other studio releases.

The Last Samurai

We're familiar with the DVD release of this title, and this BD is even more engaging. The PQ and AQ while not top rated enhance the viewing experience.

Les Miserables 25th Anniversary Concert - I'm glad I waited to view this on blu. Great audio and ambience makes you feel like you're right there. The nice thing is that you can view it over and over.

Zoolander - watching this in bits over the last few days. A/Q P/Q as expected for blu. Bargain price makes this a reasonable addition.

Avatar.

I didn't know that it has an extended cut that add up to 18 mins of screen time than the original theatrical version. It looks like im watching the movie for the first time again! Very happy with it especially im now hearing it in my Polk RTi speakers.

And do you know i only got the Avatar 3-disk special edition for only $18 last boxing day sale?

Phantom 2013 - Puro dark scenes but very clear kasi konti ang grains. Sound is fair for a submarine thriller. Nice movie for fans of Red October.

The Wildest Dream 2010 - I've become a fan of everything about Mt. Everest ever since I watched The Discovery Channel specials. Beautiful high def shots of the enchanted mountain! Watched it twice over.

Stoker 2013 - Intriguing story but couldnt figure out why the IMDB ratings are that high. Nothing special about PQ and AQ because it's all about craziness.

Outrage Beyond 2012: In Japanese. You have to watched Outrage 2010 to better appreciate the evolution of the main characters. And you have to remember the names fast because there are so many Japanese names mentioned. Good Yakuza movie from Takeshi Kitano.
