Even in DTS, this concert is pretty impressive for such a huge venue.

Yup you said it. I just notice the big difference in the HD audio format with concerts.  In movies not so much.

hi Doc, you make me jealous hehe ;D. This is one bluray I really want and for sure will buy. I don't know why up to now I haven't purchased it. ??? ;D. I guess  ;D I'm still waiting for other blurays to come down in price so I will order them together para hindi sayang shipping cost. ;D

When it comes to bluray, concert videos are for keeps.  They really bring out the best in HD audio formats. Your money won't be wasted.  ;)

Sin City - Two-Disc Theatrical & Recut, Extended, and Unrated Versions

Finally upgraded my old C-Interactive DVD copy.

The splashy titles & the option to watch each episode one at a time make the extended & unrated versions worth one's while but I prefer the theatrical cut.

Celine: Through the Eyes of the World

This is a documentary world tour which follows Celine, husband, child, and other relatives on the family journey to more than 80 countries. Some scenes are emotional. A must see for Celine's fans. ;)

Rambo

Love the movie. Probably the most gory and violent in the Rambo series.  Great PQ.  Outstanding DTS audio.  Reference material for audiophiles ;D

Up

Very heartwarming movie that you can watch again and again with your family.  PQ and SQ shine in the BD format, maybe one of the best animation in bluray ;D  This 4-disc BD offer lots of extras.  WOW,  is all I can say.

Ferris Buehler's Day Off

Can't remember seeing this 80s movie before. How can I miss this Hughes classic?  Glad to catch this, though, in BD format.  PQ is good considering the age of the movie.  Sound is even better with those 80s soundtrack.  Very entertaining movie.  And great PQ and SQ in BD.

Dollhouse Season One (First 3 Episodes)

Love the first 3 episodes, with the 3rd one "Stage Fright" as my favorite so far.  My wife and I were instantly hooked to this series ( unlike others where it takes a few more episodes to like the series ).  Great PQ.  Love the colors.  Elisha Ducku is sizzling hot!

Outstanding PQ and AQ!  Husay ng choreography and execution ng fight scenes.  My mom is an instant Donnie Yen fan!  LOL

Kill Bill Volume 1

Wow, is all I can say. Everything here is done with perfection, kudos to Disney and Buena Vista.  This BD format totally blows away my R2 DVD of Kill Bill out of the water!  PQ is outstanding from the opening B&W scene to the finish. I love the vibrant colors -- from Black Mamba's red leather seats in her Pussy Wagon, to her cool Bruce Lee Yellow suit, to the black and white fight scenes which looked marvelous!  PQ of Kill Bill now belongs way up there as my demo HD films with Avatar & I Robot.   And if PQ is solid, SQ is heavenly!  The sound truly immersed me in the middle of the action!  Add to it the cool music of Tarantino.  Extras are pretty much the same as my DVD.

Can't wait to watch Volume 2 tonight.

Nice!

It's a lot of fun watching Kill Bill, especially if you have some background knowledge about 1970s HK martial arts movies and Japanese chambara films.

But I've been holding back on Kill Bill BD for the longest time, since I'm not going to get a Kill Bill BD unless it's the Japanese cut, also known as "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair".

The Japanese cut for Vol. I is much, much better than the original cut.  You get extended cuts of the anime portion and House of Blue Leaves battle; plus, the formerly black and white scenes in the House of Blue Leaves battle are in full color.  Those black and white scenes were what I hated most about the original version of Vol. I, because the shift to monochrome didn't make sense and seemed out of place.

For Vol. II, I think the original cut and the Japanese cut are the same.

The Japanese cut was released on DVD, but no BD version has been released so far.

Cool barrister.  I will look forward to that day when they do release that Jap cut. Thanks for the info bro.

Now, for my post --

Same pristine PQ and SQ as Vol. 1.  Another demo quality BD here.  Love that kick ass showdown between The Bride and Elle Driver ( who will be back in Kill Bill 3 in 2014 ).  Also love Pai Mei!  Reminds me of those 70s HK Martial Arts characters I used to watch in our B&W TV ( I was 5 or 6 then? ) -- "Lets see your tiger crane match my eagles claw".  Classic!

Face Off

I've seen and owned this movie in maybe all formats available, VHS to VCD to DVD.  I've seen this endlessly over HBO.  The more you watch it, the more you realize how absurd the plot is.  But it's still damn entertaining after all those years. If you ask me my top 5 90s action movies right off the bat, chances are I'd be saying Face Off  ( together with Speed, Under Siege, The Rock, Die Hard ).  Now in BD, all the action ( and the silliness ;D ) shines anew.  PQ is very good, easily outshines the DVD no end.  SQ is heavenly!  The masterpiece gun fights and explosions of John Woo were solid reference material for me.
