Karate Kid (2010)What BD can do. The first time I watched Karate Kid in the theaters, I thought it was a poor remake and didn't like it. But because my kid loved it so much, I purchased a DVD only and said nope, never on BD. I still didn't like the movie
The Black Friday sale made me buy the BD on a ridiculous $10 price. And when I watched it, for the 3rd time, on hi def and my expectations managed well, I'm glad to have warmed up to it, finally. PQ and SQ are very good. Extras, particularly the alternate ending, were very entertaining as well.
The Karate Kid BD can now sit alongside the 1984 original in my collection. Though the "jacket on, jacket off" is still a bit too stretched than the "wax on, wax off", the 2010 KK ain't a bad remake after all.
