Inception. It includes a nice feature on how they did most of the spectacular scenes.

I saw the movie twice, in 2 different moviehouses and the colors looked washed out to me. I didn't even find the Paris scenes beautiful, because it was either too dark, or the colors looked muted. But in the blu-ray, no problems on that end.

Planet Earth

Finally saw all the episodes.

Beautiful, awe-inspiring. Takes you to places you'll probably never visit.
Makes one feel so glad that God placed us in a beautiful planet.
And we show we are not grateful because we are destroying it.  :-\

RED  :) old dogs as retired aging black ops, A so-so movie for some weekend action. PQ is acceptable while the SQ is kinda not very good eventhough I got the special edition w/ DTS-HD MA 5.1, Hope this will help  ;)

Big Trouble In Little China - Enough action and 80's nostalgia to keep me glued.  Good kung fu stunts and sorcery effects.  No wonder it was such a hit way back then.  PQ and SQ are just ok, for an 80's film.

The Host - If you like Aliens or Predator, this one's for you.  If you like Korean telenovela, you'll drool over this!  It's a combi of both.  Great acting by the Korean actors.   More than the Host, the story is really about the bond between daddy and daughter.  Very good PQ and SQ!

Wolverine  Decided to watch this prior to my X-Men trilogy marathon.  Might be the weakest in the X Men saga but still an entertaining watch.  The opening siege action sequence still blows me away!  PQ is very good.  Sound is awesome.  Good appetizer for my X Men trilogy.

Twister

I still love this movie, after seeing this countless times.  It's like an old pal that you revisit every so often.  Watched with my family and we were glued to our seats till the credits rolled.  From the opening scene, my home theater was very active -- all 5.1 speakers of them!.  I already knew that this was demo material but you've got to hear it to believe it.  The Dolby TrueHD lossless sound mix is a sonic experience indeed.  PQ, though not that sharp and detailed, is pretty good.  Just don't expect too much and it's a fun ride all the way.

Harry Potter & The Philosopher's Stone

Now that Deathly Hallows Part 1 is a couple of months away from release, my wife & I decided to start revisiting the early HP releases. For us, the first installment will never lose it's charm.

HP 1 boasts of an average BD transfer & some may be turned off with the grainy opening scene. The PCM 5.1 audio option packs a lot more punch than it's 5.1 DD counterpart.

Con Air  I used to love this action movie, back in the 90s.  Watching it again in BD, parang it's quite a letdown for me.  The loopholes in the script are as many as the holes in Danny Trejo's mean face.  I wouldn't have minded had the action been over the top but parang kulang pa rin. The destruction of Vegas was pretty cool though.   To top it all, I was squirming all over when "How Can I Live" was being played while Nicolas Cage was crying.  PQ was a-OK. SQ was, as expected, bombastic.  Fans of Con Air will not be disappointed.
