Silence (Hiljaisuus) 2011
Apparently regarded as one of the best Finnish movies released in 2011. The setting was the Russo-Finnish Great Winter War but the story revolved around the lives of men and women in the Casualty Evacuation Center near enemy lines whose job was to take full-time (and very good) care of Finnish killed-in action and prepare (beautify) the dead bodies (making sure that frozen dead were properly thawed for instance) for honorable return to their loved ones and burial at their hometown.
Never knew that any country could actually do such thing during WWII.
Very moving drama especially during the latter half of the movie about people living around life and death, in a very cold place where friendship, loyalty, betrayal, craziness, fear, horror, love and dedication all intersect.
Nothing special about the Swedish LPCM and DD5.1 sound steams (but that was the point perhaps), however, the images and cinematography were very beautifully shot.
