John Carter (2012)Ratings: 3 out of 5Ok for the most part of it, I would say its Phantom Menace meets Avatar meets Cowboys Vs. Aliens. I mean I'm not a big fan of the book itself but the pacing is just slow like hell. I mean this is supposed to be a good budget Sci fi adventure and it turns out to be flat most of the time. It's like watching a bad Sci fi soap opera on tv or a boring stage play at midnights. The acting is so decent, there are a lot of CGI flaws and for the most part of it, it never works. A very disappointing high budgeted blockbuster with all the anticipation that leads to a flop end. It has all the goods in the cinematography though it's not enough to impress everyone. Maybe this is recommended when your drunk.
Act of Valor (2012)Ratings: 4 out of 5Now first of all, I have to say this is more of a "call of duty like" in terms of presentation (if you are a video game fan you know what I mean). I thought the first half was as generic as it could get though I'm a bit surprised bout the whole army action thing presentation. It really gets me up especially when the action heats up. I thought the pacing was very well made. I never get bored when these actors know what they are doing ( even as a terrorist or a soldier ). With all the hype and criticism that this film gets, it is a well made action flick that reminds us how these spec ops are a big part of our nation. A good flick with no alcohol required.
This Means War (2012)Ratings: 2 out of 5The only thing got me with this is Chris Pine and Tom Hardy. Sadly they team up in a cheesy McG chick flick. Though it has some slight humor improvements. There are a lot of repetitions here and there. But the more it gets me into it. The more boredom of cliche moments which seriously it will not work either. Pine and Hardy is obviously having a good time with their performances though it did not impress me enough. Another bad McG flick and the sad thing is its 2 hours of mindless chick flick.
