21 Jump Street 2012

Ang ganda pala ng DTS-HDMA5.1 sound and soundtrack neto.

As for the story itself, puede na.  I'm still not used to seeing Jonah Hill not too fat.    ;D

The Secret World of Arrietty - Lushly animated with a wonderfully enchanting story. Stands with the other top-notch films from Studio Ghibli.

TMNT - The plot is a simple as can be.  The turtles joined together again to rival Shredder who recruits the foot clan to revive 13 ancient monsters for world domination.  CGI and PQ is simply astounding.   The Dolby TrueHD track rocks!!!  ;D

Blade (1998)

Ratings: 4 out of 5

Blade is not just your ordinary generic vampire action flick. But its an awesome action popcorn flick of the 90's. Blade combines with Wesley Snipe's charisma is a perfect combination of a gory martial arts hack and slash action adventure that feeds you at its best. Though there are some generic CGI crap all over but the whole execution and the plot is not bad at all. The thing is its not boring thinking they should have another Blade film which is exactly they are making a trilogy.

The Pact (2012)

Ratings: 4 out of 5

Its eary, slow and creepy horror drama offered by McCarthy. The first pace of the film gave you already the satisfactory of slow motion chills which is very likely the taste of some Ti West trademark. Put this up, this is expected as a low budget but plot wise its not your ordinary ghost story. Well made, well acted and execution wise its very much passable for any horror fan aficionados. Very Much recommended.

21 Jump Street (2012)

Ratings: 3.5 out of 5

21 Jump Street reminds me of some old school action films in the 90's that being a duo is popular. I haven't even seen the TV version of it though I'm a bit surprised with a surprised cameo on those final scenes. The film is fun, has a killer humor but then its a lot predictable than expected. Some scenes are so childish and over the top thinking this will give you laughs but not for me then. It's there but it could have been better. It lacks the meaning of a buddy cop tandem comedy that I'm expecting.

Outrage (2011)

Ratings: 4 out of 5

Ok first of all I'm such a huge Takeshi Kitano fan. Though I might say this is not his best film but this is one of a hell of a great film. I mean its dark and brutal mob drama that focuses the intense lives of Yakuza's god fathers to its goons. With their big time intentions of mind games. In short this is the best Yakuza drama I've seen. Though plot wise, they made a simple problem ridiculously big that end up killing each other. Other than that its a very well made Kitano film. And special mention to Kippei Shiina, he is amazing and now I'm starting to like this Mizuno guy. He is such a bad ass.

The Yellow Sea (2010)

Ratings: 3.5 out of 5

Now what I loved from Korean thrillers is that they make quality things much more complicated plot wise. Now to the film, I definitely love the first half as the protagonist struggles and was being set up by knowing  these Chinese - Korean syndicates and problems become much wider and broader. But then as climax goes it just becomes more ridiculous and thinking to survive in such a mess like that is just  too much over the top and a failure. It was such a huge let down after those hack and slash scenes and asking "how in the world did he manage to survive?". Though I am a fan of Hong-jin Na's films such as "The Chaser" though this one fails me to impress and has less satisfactory effect after the film ended.

Journey 2 mysterious island starring the rock and that short kid from the hungr games. Ay ka-panget na pelikula! An insult to call this a kid flick! Bad script and outrageous, illogical plot. Stay away from this movie!

How Fincher can make a masterpiece about the founder of FB is genius.  Love this movie.  PQ and SQ are great but the movie alone is pure genius.

One Direction Up All Night 2012

DTS-HDMA5.1 sounds Pretty Good, the song selections are not cheezy and the 5 lads can sing well  - although need to learn to perform on stage better.

3 MTVs in the Extras plus a 7 minute video prior. Puede na kesa wala.

Guaranteed to make your daughters happy so mataas ang sulit factor. Perhaps the wife and lolas too.
