Red Riding Hood

Ordered this last November (Black Friday) mainly because of the 3.99 price tag. True enough, that's what it is, a bargain.

The movie is mediocre at best. The BD though is another solid release by Warner. Only watched the theatrical release, so I don't know if the alternate version has something better to offer.

Rescue Dawn

A true story about American POWs' escape from Vietnam in the 60's. One interesting fact about the preparation of the three main actors in the movie: Christian Bale, Steve Zahn and Jeremy Davies voluntarily shed weight to the point of being emaciated to be in character with the roles they are playing.

Superman Returns. this one is from the Superman Anthology set with the DTS-HD instead of the one with either a Dolby Digital or Dolby TrueHD audio. The bass truly shakes during explosions/collisions. Sadly, the PQ as not that great.

Disc 8/ Bonus Disc (Superman Anthology)- almost 5 hours of Superman info! That's some Superman overload right there. I only watched 2hours of it and I'm already overloaded with info. haha

Legend of the Guardians: Owls of Ga'Hoole - another reference material for PQ. Another jaw-dropper that can impress your friends. Must-own.

What can I say? ASTIG! PQ, SQ, Extras. I've seen this twice in theaters but I still enjoyed immensely the home BD experience. Almost 3 hours run time is never a problem for such an awesome movie. ASTIG ulit!!!

The Green Mile

Even though I've seen this 2nd Frank Darabont film in all it's home video incarnations - VHS, VCD, DVD & now on BD, it still hits me. There's a big lump on my throat after watching. The only other movie that tugs at my heartstrings after countless repeated viewings is Field Of Dreams.

Sadly, the picture & audio quality is only a tad better than the DVD. But I guess this is the best it's gonna look & sound until the next format comes along.

Top Gun 3D- finally one of the movies I have waited in 3D. The 3D added depth to the movie but not as much pop. The fighter planes really stood out from the background.

XMen First Class- the movie centered on the origin of young Charles Xavier born of an affluent family studying in one of the best university and Erik from a poor family in Poland. They both started as best of friends and later on turning to arch enemies.

Origins are my favorite in comic books and even in movie adaptations are something I look forward to. So far this has been my best Xmen movie....probably a 3rd or 4th viewing. Aside from the crisp video and immersing audio, the storyline really piques my interest and this definitely is one for keeps with my other Xmen BDs.

For one reason or another, I didn't find it as good as I remembered.

Video & audio quality is good enough but not as good as other 90's films (like for example Pulp Fiction & Fight Club) that finally saw the light of day on BD. But at 3.99, how can I complain
