Glad you got your copy na aeris30 & to hear both PQ & AQ are great. My copy should be arriving next week. I really like this T series. Hope T1 will be released too in the future. :)

Are you importing the Terminator 2 from French?

Thanks pchin! Would definitely import T2 HD DVD if only Amazon UK's or Amazon France's shipping delivery to the Phils. is also handled by Royale Logistics...

How's the MI3 PQ aeris30? I read various reviews & all of them aren't consistent. Some say the PQ is excellent 5-star while others gave it a 4-star only. What's your opinion bro?  :)

M:i:III (HD DVD)

Some scenes are all too familiar....(double-crossing and the too obvious Abrams favorite, being tied up and tortured in a chair, then escaping) its like watching an episode of Alias.  Though this one veered slightly from IMF-style action and spy stuff, I truly enjoyed the action scenes, especially the bombing in the viaduct.  PQ-wise, its truly flawless, from the natural colors, up to the texture and detail, it was all dead on spot.  It helps that it was shot in HD.  A first rate demo material for HD DVD, with the 3D effect in full force.....including the moon craters in Laurence Fishburne's face.... ;D ;D ;D
paul...even if PQ rating ranges from 4-5...its still very good.....and highly recommended.... :)

I watched Poseidon over the weekend, and im not really impressed..hmmm I dont know I noticed the first part of the movie was really sharp but when the ship got turned over and more of the scenes are in the dark and in the water, seems like just dvd quality to me. Maybe its just my settings..Anyway will watch it again to check it out

Moks, any particular chapter or time frame? Maybe I can re-check my Poseidon. Yes, after the shipped overturned, there are lots of dark scenes but overall, it's still quite sharp.

I love the ballroom dance scenes with the ambience & background noise where all the surround speakers (surround R/L & surround back) got a very good work-out! :)

Paul, Il watch the movie again, but I notice all throughout from  middle to end the pq is not as good as the ballroom scene as you said, The ballroom scene and Josh's face was really amazingly sharp, especially when he is walking down or on the stairways. I dont know maybe I just have a small screen (32 inch) maybe at this size one really cant see most of the sharpness in dark scenes....

Not really. Maybe it's the other way round. Since your HD display is a LCD which is better in quality, hence it's easier to observe the claririty & PQ as compared to mine. Any poor PQ, grainy scenes, etc would be easily noticed by your set.  :)

Superman Returns. PQ is grainy in some scenes & also no IME feature...what a shame  :-[

However, the AQ compensates its short coming :)

PQ: 4/5
AQ: 5/5

Nine Inch Nails: Live: Beside You In Time (Blu ray)

Wow! Dolby TrueHD on PS3 awesome!! If you are a Nine Inch Nails fan (which I am) then you have to own this.

PQ is excellent and even comes with a video adjustment/test patterns menu to fine tune your HDTV's. What I enjoyed most is the Audio - guitars, bass, synths, drums and keyboards just sounds awesome! Your receivers and speakers will have a good worked out especially when you play it LOUD!  ;D

Track listing is also good although some NIN songs were not there. But hey, can't complain for a $16.99 Dolby TrueHD demo material.  :o

X-Men 3 - The Last Stand [Blu-ray]

PQ is just average for me for a HD title...close up shots shows very good detail but wide angled shots are kinda soft and muted for HD.  I could not say anything less though for AQ. The DTS-HD Master audio soundtrack (which is in 6.1) is downtreamed to my receiver as DTS-ES at a healthy 1.5mbps...and I could say that it is really darn good for me.  A great demo material for HD audio.  ;D ;D

Open Season (Blu-ray)

A great demo material for HD, PQ wise.   A keeper for me as this properly demonstrates how HD should look like....the great detail and colors are so evident, particularly the animal fur.....as if you could actually grab and touch it.   ;D ;D  Story maybe more appropriate for kids.....so this will stay in my rack......will wait for my 6 month old kid to appreciate watching this.. :)

The Ant Bully (HD DVD)

Great picture quality.   Colors are vivid and the three dimensionality you would cherish in HD is in full display here.  The Dolby TrueHD nicely complements the visuals.  The plot is just so-so...but would be good keep for my kid.

Underworld: Evolution (Blu-ray)

Another top tier in terms of picture and audio quality....getting a downstreamed Dolby Progic IIx that I got from the uncompressed PCM 5.1, I could honestly say thats its still quite good.......and thats until I hear the real good stuff via a hdmi equipped AVR.  The Dolby Digital with a healthy 1.5mbps encode aint bad too.  ;D ;D   I forgot to mention.....Kate Beckinsale in HD.....woohoo!!!  ;D

Nice one buddy, looks like you were pretty occupied over the weekend with HD movies  ;D
yup paul.......reaping dividends from our investment...hehehe  ;)

Yep, the audio using the Optical has big improvement over the standard DD & DTS.

Using a HDMI equiped receiver will let you enjoy the HD audio to a higher level like never before... :D

yes, coz the normal DD and DTS we used to hear over SD DVDs are not normally encoded at the maximum 1.5mbps via coaxial or optical...... :)

Planet Earth -1st 3 parts (Discovery HD Channel)  ;D

A stunning look of our beloved Planet Earth in Hi Def! from the mountains of Mt. Everest, to the plains of the Kalahari, the deepest oceans and more.. All these in just the first 3 parts of the 11 part mini- series broadcasted in 1080i and 5.1 DD. The program runs 'til April 22 with the eventual release of the collected 4 disc Blu Ray and HD DVD versions on April 24.

My wife and I had a good time watching it last night and even asked me to record it so that she can watch it anytime she likes.

Another great demo material once it comes out on BD and HD DVD to impress your friends and relatives!

Cheers!
