The Matador (HD DVD)

A fine effort from Weinsten. PQ is superb. Im beginning to feel that Brosnan is stucked to this kind of assasin or spy roles, but he still pulls it off in this one. Great combo acting with Kinnear too. Despite the known playback glitches with this title, I was surprised that it played flawlessly with my HD-A1.

Blazing Saddles, so far one of the best hddvd titles Ive seen in terms of pq, if not the best. For a film this old its crystal clear, my opinion its a 5 star.
Pirates 1, very nice pq. indeed razor sharp

Hot Fuzz (HD DVD)

I aint that much familiar with British made action comedies, but Im glad I caught these two up. Its good that I watched "Shaun" first coz references to that movie appeared all throughout "Hot Fuzz". Great writing leads to clever movies. And seeing it in HD is just icing on a very delicious cake!!

Watched Hot Fuzz two nights ago. It was a riot! Although I still prefer Shaun of the Dead over it, the movie was still one heck of a good time. I nearly fell off my seat after seeing the stage rendition of "Lovefool"!

Great IME features...the version without the CG and processing PIP'ed with the main feature..cool stuff from HD DVD.

I have seen the SD copy and the grain in the HD copy is muted down a bit.

Tmnt- blu-ray - good animation. Won't know the diff between this and the standard version coz I dont have the standard version. Animations are usually really good in the standard version. But this blu-ray version looks pretty good to me.

Sky high - pretty good..maybe 3.75 in PQ

Heroes: Season 1 (HD DVD)

Another great TV series on HD DVD!! 'Had a great time watching all the episodes during the long weekend. The transfer is definitey better than the OTA HD broadcast. Plus the tons of extras and features included in the set. I didn't have any playback issues encountered during the "series marathon" so overall I'm very satisfied with this one...

Notting Hill- Im so happy with this transfer, thanks universal (bec its one of my favorites to watch with my wife hehe..). Great PQ for me. 5 star

Blades of Glory- CLEARly awesome. Skater's outfit looks sparkling, settings on ice look cool. Everything looks great. Colors are great. Movie is pretty funny, but I dont like the blonde guy. I wish Owen Wilson played this part. But I dont think he can handle this part.

Infernal Affairs blu-ray - ok the first time I watched this (when I just got the PS3), I thought it has really bad pq. After trying different tv settings, Wow what a difference it really made. Its pretty sharp to me. A 4.0 to 4.25 star quality, Cantonese audio, english subtitle.
