Notting Hill HD DVD

An excellent upgrade to my SD copy! Great outdoor shots...at 12:04 of chapter 3...you can clearly see the cameraman's reflection on Julia Robert's sunglasses...plus you get a Dolby TrueHD track. 8)

Spider-Man HD Trilogy (Blu-ray)

Finally, finished watching the trilogy over the weekend. Excellent PQ and AQ! Definitely a very good addition to your collections. From the 3 movies, I like 2.1 the most.  ;D

Crank.  Awesome PQ and AQ.  Rated as one of the best transfers to Blu Ray per DVD Talk reviews: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=26089&___rd=1
Superb action sequences, and the pores on Jason Statham's face will surely be talk material in the coming periods.  ;)

4. Go to the "More Than Meets The Eye" sub-menu, then highlight "From Script To Sand - The Skorponok Desert Attack" then press up on your remote....head of Optimus Prime will appear...highlight the head & press enter
5. Go to the "More Than Meets The Eye" sub-menu, then "Trailers" & highlight "Trailer 4" then press right on your remote - ratchet's head appears...highlight the head & press enter

Wow that trick is neat. Hope you can share other bonuses on Blu Ray titles as well.
Speaking of which, I just watched Supes and Bond courtesy of my bro Esi.  I can see why Casino Royale was dubbed as one of the best transfers at the outset of BR. Definite demo material.   ;)

yup, i agree...especially that first part where Bond chases down that bomb maker..great colors!! that would be nice if somebody created a thread to show easter eggs on both HD and bluray movies...

FOUR BROTHERS

Video. Clear as it can be!

Black is Black! Just take a look at their black coats (cops and d' mercers). Ibang klase talaga Hi-def.

Audio. Very good.

I don't know how many times I turned my back to check if there's something behind me only to find out that the sound came from my surround speakers, particularly the "chainsaw" scene (they're cutting an ice).

Cheers!!!

Puede ba torrents?

Downloaded HDDVD rips of Bourne Ultimatum and Bourne Supremacy (about 6GB and 16GB respectively) and played using VLC.  Lovely 720p-quality with theater-like colors.

I have NEVER seen this movie look THIS GOOD before. I had to pick my jaw off the floor several times while I viewed the movie. Excellent job by WB!

Just finished wathing "The Italian Job" (the remake - Marky Mark's version :D), and while the story is a great throwback to the Michael Caine classic, the blu-ray transfer of this didn't exactly make me jump out of my seat.  I initially found it too grainy so I had to recalibrate the monitor a number of times to get the best balance but to no avail.  Well the amazing action sequences and the mini-car chase scenes did manage to make up for it but the noise/grainy texture was just all over the place and distracted me quite a bit.

I checked the DVD Talk review and true enough, it was one of the weaknesses of this Blu ray title, to quote: "Unfortunately, the disc is plagued by a disgusting amount of edge enhancement ringing in almost every scene. The artificial sharpening also tends to give film grain a noisy electronic texture that's rather unpleasant."  Lesson learned, I should have checked the reviews first before purchasing.

Anyway - if it's any consolation, Charlize was a knockout!  ;)
