Just watched TMNT last night and loved the CGI !  Had to backtrack nga on the storyline of the hardbacks in their 1st movie.
Wow far cry from their 1st outing in 90's to the full CGI version in '07!

^^^ He he :D Akala ko meron na ring hi-def ning lumang Ninja Turtles movie. :D I liked the first two... Hated the 3rd one (the one where the Turles were sent back to ancient Japan). For those who can't remember the 3rd movie, watch Angry Video Game Nerd's review of the film from the ScrewAttack website.  ;D

Hehe... I wish they would indeed come out with a BD of the 1st one.  Ground-breaking for that time one could argue.  ;)
This latest installment just raises the bar for this film franchise.  Superb rendition IMO.  ;)

Zodiac - For those who really love good movies and good narrative.   Outstanding PQ.

Heartbreak Kid - For those who simply want to get entertained for 2 hours but PQ is way over the roof indeed.

The Invasion - Interesting story build-up but terrible (as in wtf) ending.  Nicole is still a goddess of beauty...and she seems to have bigger b**bs???

The Kingdom - I like the ending, Wife hated the ending.  Entire storyline is so so.   The bomb explosion rattled my entire small living room.

Superbad - Very funny movie.  More hilarious than Knocked Up.  PQ is just ok I think but entertainment value is high.

Bourne Ultimatum (repeat) - Probably the best action trilogy I've ever seen.   Nakakahilo lang talaga yung director's style of shooting without image stabilizer which becomes more apparent if you watch another film immediately before.  Wife said the only guys who have a good chance of hitting Steven Seagal are Jason Bourne and Chuck Norris.

Sunshine - Surprisingly much more entertaining than I first I thought.

Eastern Promises -  I really love movies where the storyline is deep and I can't anticipate the ending.  Vigo is creepily electrifying with his character.  Nice PQ.

Notting Hill - When you're tired and stressed out after a day's work, you just have to re-watch this kind of feel-good movie.  Average PQ (meaning, still better than the best looking DVDs), but the soundtrack remains captivating.

Good Luck Chuck:   The only thing worse than the complexion of the leading man in hi-def is that of Morpheus, but Jessica Alba is flawless as usual.   I guess nobody would complain about the love scenes all over the place but the entire movie itself is like tofu flavored ice cream (matabang).  PQ is OK.

Trading Places:   Topless Jamie Lee Curtis in hi-def glory elevated my blood pressure despite taking maintenance meds.  She really was The Body back then!  Was that thick foundation or naturally smooth white skin all over?  Sorry can't help it.  PQ is quite marvelous for an 80s film.   Story is a classic.  Dan Aykroyd looked slim although I always remember his as rather chubby.  I must have become too fat then.   :)

Terminator Trilogy and F4 Rise of Silver Surfer.

Got slight problem on Terminator 1.  How come it is showing as full screen, label says widescreen. All my ps3 and projector settings are correct as other titles are ok.  Any idea why?

Marathoned the entire Jack Ryan Collection on Sat while washing my clothes.

Good films will always be good regardless of the format, but the hi-def transfers are quite excellent nevertheless.  Watched Patriot Games, Clear & Present Danger, Sum of All Fears and my most favorite Hunt for Red October in that order.  Took a nap after the 1st 2 films to relax my strained eyes.  As I expected, PQ got sharper and sharper from the 1st movie to the 3rd, but it was pleasantly surprising that Red October's PQ is as excellent as the newest Jack Ryan film despite being the oldest.

Then I had pepperoncino for dinner while watching UFC 80 in hi-def.   Bakbakan galore.  Minsan madugo.

Stress-relief on a chilly Tokyo weekend.   :)

Yep. Nabasa ko rin sa Home Cinema Choice yung Spider-Man 3 ang may pinakamaganda raw PQ among the three films at uncompressed yung audio. Sa unang Spider-Man may noise pa raw sa picture yung sa part na umuulan.

On-Topic:
Just watched Cars (BD) with my brother. Ganda rin.  ;D Hindi ko rin napanood ito sa sine (bihiran a rin ako makapanood sa sinehan!  :D ) Yung Dragon's Lair parang mga 1 and a half hour of trial and error ako nung umpisa. Pero nung kabisado ko na parang kayang tapusin ng mga 10 to 15min! :P Will probably watch Spider-Man 2 a little later...  ;)

Hi bro, just finished watching Spidey 1 earlier and I was actually surprised with the definition considering it was the oldest of the three installments.
The raining sequence was good enough for me, but am positive the 2nd and 3rd discs would be far better in terms of definition and clarity (both audio and video).  In the highdef reviews, one great thing about this BD trilogy is the 'consistency' of the look despite Sam Raimi working with different DOPs.  4 stars for me, can't wait to check out 2&3  ;D

Heh  :D Yep. The rain sequence was also good enough for me.  ;) Although, right now. I'm only using a 17in SDTV. Plan on getting an HDTV before December (by that time, we'll see another Christmas sale promos!  ;D ). Haven't watched the other two Spider-Man movies yet. Maybe this weekend.

Beowulf (3D animated version!)

It's good! It's re-telling of the story, only with additionals. And Angelina Jollie did justice to that role!

I thought this was supposed to be released 2/26 on HD DVD? Nakakataka...
