Lines you've picked up from watching your DVDs
« on: Jul 26, 2001 at 02:00 AM »
What lines have you used or are fond of using/saying which you picked up from watching your DVDs - most especially from titles you've watched several times and still keep on watching?

Typical lines are from T2:
1.  Hasta la vista...  baby.
2.  I'll be back.
(with matching tone of voice).

:D :D :D :D :D

Two favorite lines from 2001 Space Odyssey that I've found to be very useful on my hubby are: "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that" and "Just what do you think you're doing Dave?".

None in particular, I just love to mimic Japanese actors from anime and Kurosawa films.

"NANI?"

"ONISAMA! ONIIIIISAMA!!!!"

"Brack Mobayru Pawar Unit" (Black Mobile Power Unit)

From BRING IT ON:

1.  PREPARE FOR TOTAL DOMINATION!!! (as an intro)

2.  What's with the skin?  Say it with me...  SUNLIGHT! (I use this on fair skin people who suddenly show off some skin with their new outfit.

3.  Report those complements to your ASS before it forms its own website. (Eh saan pa ba ito pwede eh di sa mga people bith big...  buttocks)

4.  No no no no... don't speak... just listen... and learn. (Para sa mahilig humitir na wala sa lugar).

I used to put this under every email I sent... It drove my officemates nuts...

Son, we live in a world that has walls and those walls need to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lieutenant Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and curse the Marines; you have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives and that my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives.

You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall.

We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use them as the backbone of a life spent trying to defend something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you," and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest that you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to.

Pwede rin iyan. We could start with simple ones pero not too much of a giveaway.  Then progress to harder ones. Bawal ang foreign movies ah, maraming lugi duon, isa na ako.  Clear din natin na walang actual prize for answering right.  Pogi o beauty points na lang siguro.

[MATURE]

Why don't you light your tampon and blow your box apart, because it's likely the only bang you'll ever get, sweetheart!

You know why this microphone has such a long cord? So it's easily retrieved after I've shoved it up your ass.

One more push and I'll smack his face so hard he'll have to stick his toothbrush up his arse to clean his teeth!

It's so funny you'll laugh so hard your lashes will curl all by themselves.

(all from one movie  ;))

Komikero - yes, that's a good idea for a new trivia game. Also we can have another - identify this movie tagline thread.

the best and funniest lines i have heard from a movie.
***********************************************************
Dark Helmet: Careful you idiot. I said across her nose, not up it!
Laser Gunner: Sorry sir. Doing my best.
Dark Helmet: Who made that man a gunner?
Colonel Sandur: I did sir. He's my cousin.
Dark Helmet: Who is he?
Colonel Sandurz: He's an a**hole sir.
Dark Helmet: I know that!....What's his name?
Colonel Sandurz: That is his name sir, Major A**hole
Dark Helmet: and his cousin?
Colonel Sandurz: He's an a**hole too sir: Gunner's mate, first class, Philip A**hole
Dark Helmet: How many a**holes we got on this ship anyhow?
The Crew: YO!!!! (all the people in the ship)
Dark Helmet: I knew it, I'm surrounded by a**holes
[Dark Helmet pulls his mask down]
Dark Helmet: Keep firing a**holes!!

How come when i put the word A**Hole it is changed or refered to as a rearended personality?
***********************************************************

Dark Helmet: What the hell am I looking at?... When does this happen in the movie?
Colonel Sandurz: Now, You're looking at now sir...Everything that happens now is happening now.
Dark Helmet: What happened to then?
Colonel Sandurz: We passed then.
Dark Helmet:When.
Colonel Sandurz:Just now... We're at now now.
Dark Helmet: Go back to then?
Colonel Sandurz: When?
Dark Helmet: Now.
Colonel Sandurz: Now?
Dark Helmet: Now.
Colonel Sandurz:I can't
Dark Helmet: Why?
Colonel Sandurz: We missed it.
Dark Helmet: When?
Colonel Sandurz: Just now.
Dark Helmet: When will then be now?
Colonel Sandurz: Soon!
DH: "Howsoon?"
Technician: "Sir!"
DH: "What?!"
Tech: "We've identified their location!"
DH: "Where?!"
Tech: "It's the moon of Vega."
CS:"Good work. Set a course and prepare for our arrival!"
DH: "When?!"
Tech: "Nineteen hundred hours, sir!"
CS: "By high noon tomorrow they will be our prisoners!"
DH: "WHO??!!" [Face mask falls in front of face]

Reminds me of the classic "Who's on first?" argument. Did Mel Brooks come up with that script, too?

Actually, Spaceballs is already out (released April last year I think), other stores have it in stock; the new date - Aug 14,2001 at Amazon is a re-release date. :)
