The 1st week we bought it, nagaagawan kmi ni erpats kung cno mauuna gumamit dahil sarap manood tsaka makinig nd cd's.

pero i think mas gaganda pa 2nog nya pag tagal, di pa namin masyado tinotodo break in palang bago palang pati speakers

I auditioned the HK5500..and sa lahat nang inaudition ko Onkyo TXSR600, Marantz SR5300, Denon 1803 da best yung HK..kaya if ur budget is 34k for receiver go get ur self the HK5500 yun nga lang ull need a separate amp to make it 6.1 or 7.1

i made a side by side comparison between hk5500 and denon 1803, and i must say na talagang satisfied ako sa tunog ng harman. for me iyung denon is a little brighter than yamaha but iyung harman it's warm. iyung di ba masakit sa tenga? lalo mo pang lalakasan para di ka mabitin. we tested it using b&w 601S3 at architectural audio. naubos nga ang incentive ko dito but it's really worth it. di ka magsisisi. my next target is to buy cd's na puro vocals para magamit ko ng husto iyung unit ko.

ehehehe i was so amazed sa narinig ko hindi ko na naitanong kung anong speakers ang gumagana dun sa unahan... tabi tabi kasi yung speakers na nasa unahan eh...i was concentrating dun sa sound na naririnig ko ang naitanong ko eh yung sub na ginagamit nya which is velodyne......denon 1803 kasi tinitingnan ko dun eh..napatingin lang ako nung tumunog na yung harman eehehehehe

i just came from architectural audio this afternoon and inquire abt the hk5500 that i ordered pero sabi nila by next week daw ang dating ng mga ito together with the 3550. i already made a reservation and binayaran ko na rin just to make sure na di ko na magagastos ang pera ko na nakalaan para doon.

while i was paying for for the unit, there is this customer who is looking for a lower model of harman (hk2550). since wala naman akong gagawin sa bahay, nagstay ako to listen on the demo. the result, wala rin akong masabi coz nung una infinity bookshelf speaker ang gamit (not the kappa one). we use it for a dvd demo using only these two speakers. nung piniplay na iyung eagles dvd, i thought they'd also using the subwoofer pero di pala. the bass was tight and the midrange was good. then after using the bookshelf speakers, we use the infinity kappa (not the bookshelf one but the floorstander). it has a built-in subwoofer (passive) and i was surprised that hk2550 was able to drive the floorstander without a sweat considering that hk model was rated only at 40watts but with high current capability. at dahil sa nangyaring ito, lalo yata akong di makakatulog habang inaantay kong dumating iyung unit ko.

di ko na halos pinansin iyung katabi niyang model na denon which nico says was a higher model of denon. it was a avs something. ang ganda nga coz the cover of the denon was transparent (made of fiberglass). kitang kita iyung loob especially the transformer located at the center of the unit. di ko na naitanong kung magakano iyung denon but i'm very sure di aabot ang budget ko doon. sa laki nga ng receiver na iyon, naging maliit tuloy ang tingin ko doon sa harman. buhay talaga, di na ako makaipon because of this expensive hobby.....

i was able to audition both. first was the hk5500. for audio sound wala akong masabi, tight bass and clear midrange. kahit walang subwoofer and u have a good set of speakers, ang ganda tumunog. as in sabi ko nga before para kang pinapatulog esp. if your playing jazz. all i can say is di masakit sa tenga pakinggan. na kahit lakasan mo ng lakasan, ok pa rin. in movies, ok pa rin but i noticed na di siya bright sounding which is good when your watching movies. dito siya nalamangan ng konti ng denon. denon 1803 for me is a less brighter than my yamaha that i previously owned. yung nga kaagad ang naalala ko when we demoed it. i decided not to continue the demo anymore coz right then i decided na iyung harman na ang kunin ko. aside from the fact that i can also used the harman to drive my old set of floorstanding speakers (sansui) aside from my b&w speakers. nasabi ko nga kanina na iyung 2550 was able to drive a floorstander, mas lalo na iyung 5550. just my observation....

I'm also planning to upgrade and the hk 5500 is one of the receivers, along with the denon 3803 and pioneer vsx 2011. of the 3 the harman is the cheapest and has the best amps (for me that is) and it uses a torroidal transformer. yun nga lang it doesn't the latest features. Pricewise the harman is the best choice..but the MCACC functionality and 7 amps of the vsx 2011 and the ability to biamp if you only want 5.1 makes me think twice though.

If u have the budget i suggest u buy the HK5500..speechless ako sa narinig ko...although mas mahal ata yung denon 3803 the HK5500 is only 34k

advantage of the HK5500 is the pre-out jacks and separate power amp inputs. very useful if one day you want to upgrade to separates.

HK 3550 is within the price range of the 1803. The 5500 is 10T more expensive than the Denon.

jofkevski, new world hotel is in makati, pasay road corner makati avenue. architectural audio is on the lobby shop. when you're inside the hotel, look for the coffee shop and turn left the hallway and exit at the door at the end of the hallway. the shop is on the right side.

Wala pa akong H/K. I'm planning to buy also (2550 or 3550).

Na audition ko na ang mga receiver from 15K to 30K price range. All I can say is the Harman Kardon is the BEST in overall aspect. At about 40 watts per channel, sa umpisa baka sabihin mo, mahina yan, but it can REALLY drive.

Hear for yourself to believe.

Archi Audio is located at New World Hotel, landmark mo na lang is Glorietta or Greenbelt.

Sa Park Square 1 at Shangrila, may mga Harman/Kardon retailers.

About 17K ang 2550 and 20K to 21K ang 3550.

qatarman, lots of options on where to park. new world hotel has a parking facility, but its on the high side. good alternative would be at greenbelt 3. you could also park at greenbelt one, but you would have to walk a little bit farther.
