Masters may ask po ako. When i play a DD TrueHD 7.1 Bluray from my PS3 to my receiver, DD lang ang nka display dun sa panel ng receiver (Denon 1912). Ung BD movie is Shrek. :(

eto pa pala.. when i play a DTS-HD MA (.m2ts ung file) walang sound output ung video. But when i play it through pc may sound sxa. weird.

dapat nga pag naka set to Bitstream, TrueHD yung makikita mo sa display.

paki check yung BD audio settings mo kung naka select yung DD TrueHD during playback.

I think the movie or the BD is the problem. It says sa label sa likod ng BD capable sxa ng DD TrueHD 7.1 pero when i pressed select pra sa info nung movie DD lng nkalagay. Dapat DD TrueHD nkalagay dun dba or something?  Ill try nlng ibang BD movie and see. :)

edit: Kaya rin ba mag stream ng DTS-HD MA / DD TrueHD through network? Hindi ko ma-try kase ung file na nadownload ko is .m2ts format which is hnd ata compatible sa PS3 not sure though. Demo sya ng DTS-HD MA pero walang sound pag stream ko sxa from my PS3 through network.

About dun sa stream sir, what dou you mean panu pag stream ng HD sa PS3?

ibig kong sabhin paano yung connection ng pc and PS3. wireless or wired? parang may nabasa ako na may issue pag wireless, pls correct me if Im wrong :)

sir I have a ps3 from dubai, and it does not play region A bds. afaik, region b ang dubai. so make sure before you buy ask the sales person kung meron silang region A bds tapos iplay nila sa ps3 na bibilhin ng wife nyo. our local bds are region A

Sir timtim15 thanks sa info. Actually my wife told me that other stores in Dubai are selling ps3 at higher prices. Ung cheapest na napagtanungan nya is worth P11K and as per Sir at_sunset_blvd feedback his firiend's ps3 plays region A and B. Siguro ito ung dahilan ng ibat ibang presyo.

Malaking tulong ito. Thanks again Sir timtim15 and Sir at_sunst_blvd.

Yung PS3 and PC ko isang network lng sila nka connect.

Hirap kase PS3 mapili. hehe.

On the issue on the PS3 doing the dd-thd, the PS3 can decode it but the receiver wont show any display because the decoding is done on the PS3. I believe it cannot also pass through the HD audio signals to the receiver so that the receiver should display it when it starts decoding it. Any comment will be appreciated. TY  ;)

The PS3 can pass through (bitstream) HD audio to the receiver. I have a DTS-HDMA bluray and i can bitstream the audio from the ps3 to the receiver. You can choose if you want the ps3 to decode the audio or your receiver.

No prob. You can just press Triangle while watching a movie and theres a setting there (i think AV Receiver option) that you can configure the Linear PCM or Bitstream. Compare both and see what suits your hearing preference. :)

Your firmware must be updated to the latest.  ;D

Has anyone tried playing a Region 2 Blu-Ray (PAL) in a locally purchased PS3? My PS3 if I'm not mistaken is Region 3 (CECHL*) series. I am using a HDTV connected to the PS3 via HDMI cable.

I really want to purchase the boxset of The Adventures of Tintin
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Adventures-Tintin-Complete-Series-All-3-Seasons-New-Blu-ray-Box-Set-R2-/350496439802?pt=UK_Collectables_AnimationCharacters_Anime_SM&hash=item519b373dfa#ht_1694wt_905

However, I haven't seen a copy of the boxset other than Region 2. Before purchasing it, I just want to be sure that this will play in my PS3.

I purchased my PS3 in Thailand and it plays both PAL and NTSC formats with no problems.
Also there is a multi-region patch available online now.

Haven't tried it myself yet, waiting for some brave soul to give it a try before I try on my baby.

Need you help please, newbie here.  How do I connect the PS3/Bluray audio to a dvd/home theater system?  PS3 is currently connected to via HDMI to the TV but the audio is only coming out of the TV.  Would like to experience HD audio through the home theater.  What other connections or cable to do need?  Can't seem to figure this one out.  Thanks in advance.

I use an optical/toslink cable from PS3 to my DVD HTIB player, switched to 'digital in' function. But this is just 5.1 sound. I'm not sure if it's the same way for an HD home theater.

same lang din sa receiver...but if your HT receiver has HDMI in and outs you can use it to hear DTS HD/ DD HD tracks dun, video signal would come out narin from the av receiver ..toslink can handle DD TruHD and DTS Hd  sana ..pero may SPDIF standard kaya di pwede dumaan yung HD audio sa toslink ,,kaya siguro sinama narin yung HD audio sa HDMI HTH :)

The DVD/HT has an HDMI port, it is connected now to the TV as HDMI 1.  PS3 also connected to the TV as HDMI 2, but again it does not play the audio on the DVD/HT, only from the TV.  With the Optical Cable, do I connect that from the PS3 to DVD/HT or would it be better to connect the Optical Cable from the TV to DVD/HT still having PS3 HDMI connected to the TV?

HTIB yata yan....kaya hdmi out lang meron, if it has an hdmi in...you can connect your PS3 via HDMI ..kung wala...toslink/optical is the way to do it yan ay kung meron OPTICAL IN yung DVD/HT set up.

After buying an Optical Cable, I just discovered that the HTIB does not have an Optical in.  I used the AV cable instead that came with the PS3 for the audio.  Video is still connected via HDMI.  Somehow it worked naman.  I'm just not certain if this is already the best audio output that I can get from it.  Is there any other cable that I can use perhaps?

I think it is with what you have (with no optical in), but i think it'll be just limited to a 2-channel/stereo sound.
By the way my HTIB that I use for my PS3 is a Samsung, that's why it has an optical in.
