Sine Pilipino Productions
« on: Oct 29, 2006 at 12:19 AM »
It was in the late 70's when I saw this film wherein Ariel Ureta accidentally hit a woman while driving and the woman turns out to be a vampire and continue to chase him. The episode was brilliantly shot in dream-like sequence matched with a creepy soundtrack in the background, both hilarious and creepy!

I presume this was made under Sine Pilipino Productions formed by Douglas Quijano and Joey Gosiengfiao in the early 70's. But I dunno whether it was in ZOOM ZOOM SUPERMAN or SI POPEYE ATBP that creepy episode.

If anyone has a copy, its now considered Holy Grail in Philippine Cinema!  ;)

from what i understand even Douglas Quijano doesn't have copies of Sine Pilipino produced films. although Joey Gosiengfiao owns a pristine 35mm print of La Paloma Ang kalapating Ligaw which starred Celia Rodriguez and also produced by Sine Pilipino.

How many films did they produce, Jo? Only 4 like ECP? Was SUPERGIRL part of their company, their films will surely beat those Andy Warhol camp movies.

Thanks for the info, Jo. I still remember MAY ISANG TSUPER NG TAXI wherein Trixia Gomez was part of the cast.

I thought ELEKTRIKA was produced also by their company.  ;D

it's in Si Popeye Atbp! the episode was directed by Joey Gosiengfiao where Orestes Ojeda played the vampire and Celia Rodriguez was his mistress, a high class fashion model who found Orestes naked in the streets of Makati.

Galing mo talaga, Jo. Yeah it was shot in Makati even the accident scene. I thought Celia Rodriguez was the vampire in that episode.

^ No pics from any of the Sine Pilipino movies but I found movie ads of Sunugin ang Samar (Ramon Revilla and Pilar Pilapil, directed by Joey Gosiengfiao, probably an attempt to make a serious movie(?) and Bawal: Asawa Mo, Asawa Ko directed by Elwood Perez. Both movies were produced by Sine Pilipino.

Thanks for the added info, pinoymovies. They produced 10 movies already all presumably lost. There is an ad of ZOOM ZOOM SUPERMAN in another yahoo e-groups website but I can't find the link, pinoymovies.
