Could that be the return sleeve for the damaged book?

No... the return procedure is different. I just needed to print out the shipping docs they sent on email and attach it when I send the item back via DHL.

The new "package" was supposed to be the replacement book... The replacement order showed as "DELIVERED" on my Amazon account a few hours after I received the delivery. Technically, it wasn't even a sleeve. It was like a large Amazon packing sleeve or envelope that was sliced in half. It wasn't even sealed.

Yes, nangyari na sakin before when I bought a hard drive na 9k+ PhP  ang conversion. A couple of weeks after nadeliver bumalik sa card ko. Depende na talaga kung napabayad sila ng duties or not for the product... in my case di naman sila pinabayad.

Yes. $160 is 9,600 pesos at P60/dollar... very close to 10k. They have no assurance that the exchange rate won't get the item past 10k when the item is being assessed by customs. In my experience if it clears customs without duties and taxes, they will refund the import fees.

Planning to purchase wireless speakers in Amazon as well. The item is priced at USD168 with CITI's voucher applied.

Yes, delivery to your door.

Usually, gano sya katagal bago nila irefund?

tingin ko less than a week lang din. I remember I bought from amazon uk and hindi dumating sa delivery date. auto refund within a week tapos dumating din yung item 2 weeks after delivery date.

When ordering, pinipili nyo ba yung Amazon Currency Converter? Or binabayaran nyo na sya in USD then bahala na si credit card ang magconvert to Peso?

walang import tax sa $169.97 purchase ko pero I tried $179.99, doon lumabas ang tax. bakit kaya may tax sayo for a mere $0.02 difference than my purchase.

USD to Php exchange rate is posted in Amazon and it is usually a hair over the world market rate. Php60 to a USD is way high if used to compute for import tax.

once the price hits the 10k pesos mark, may import tax na e impose even the price will drop after vouchers.

Eto kasi yung breakdown nung order ko:
Item:                 USD 197.99
Shipping:             USD 37.05
FREE Shipping Promo: -USD 37.05
CITI30:              -USD 30.00
Total before tax:     USD 167.99
Estimate tax:         USD 0.00
Import Fees Deposit:  USD 82.12
Order total:          USD 250.11

I noticed that nagkaron sya ng Import Fees Deposit dahil over 10K na yung original price ng item.

That is just for their assurance as the exchange rate fluctuates (remember that we reached 59.3 PhP per US in September). The prevailing rate upon customs review should apply.

NO, there is still IFD once the price reaches 10k. In my case I bought 4 items with a total cost of $179.99, a $65 appeared as IFD. I changed one item which reduced the total cost to $169.97, the IFD was gone. Hence, I assumed that the max ceiling is around $170 to be IFD free.

you are correct. at the time of purchase, Amazon USD to Php rate was 56.74 while XE currency rate was 56.68.

$179.99 x 56.74 = 10,212.6 (meron import fee deposit)

$169.97 x 56.74 = 9, 644.1 (wala)
