Would like to ask something about Amazon... pwede din ba bumili from users of Amazon and does the same policy apply like yun warranty tsaka kung sabay sila nashiship kasabay ng nabili ko sa Amazon? Kasi usually sa Amazon mga bago nabebenta nila... eh paano na kung gusto ko ng 2nd hand? I was able to find some like on this link for example...

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000FQ2D5E/sr=8-10/qid=1221013978/ref=olp_tab_used?ie=UTF8&coliid=&me=&qid=1221013978&sr=8-10&seller=&colid=&condition=used

Please enlighten me on this issue... thanks!

Oh! and one more thing... kunwari na yun seller only enlightens U.S. buyers... pwede din ba tayo bumili kung sakali Johnny Air Cargo gagamit natin since U.S. address and ginagamit ng JAC? Are we considered U.S. buyers if using JAC?

You can buy used items sa third party sellers sa Amazon.  Better buy ung used, like-new item than those very good or good lang na items.  If you buy more than 1 item from the same seller, the items will be shipped separately from each other, but they will usually arrive together sa JAC and JAC will usually consolidate this into 1 package so u get 1 invoice and 1 handling fee.  You can also request JAC to consolidate items coming from the same seller that is as long as they arrive within the week.

Yes you can use the address of JAC in the US and thus you are eligible for shipment to the US even if you use a Philippine-issued credit card.

I see, ok thanks... but does this also apply to items coming from Amazon's different seller but shipped within the week to JAC para isang handling fee lang? Sorry for being a noob hehe... but I seriously think I need to try this out to understand it better, just waiting for my credit card haiz... should have made one when my dad is offering it to me a long time ago... kala ko kasi hindi ko kailangan... ngayon sisi na ako   :P

I thought that Amazon's shopping cart is literally like a shopping cart sa mga supermarkets na kung mag checkout ka na eh lahat ng items sabay sabay nila ishiship... pero mukhang hindi pala base from reading through users here... from what I understand kahit na sabay mo sila icheck out... may ibang items na naiiwan... which is bad if JAC where not able to receive all of them within the week... Still though... is it automatic na gagawin ng JAC na isang handling fee lang or should I still inform them that other packages are mine and request them to just make it into 1 handling fee? If so... how could I inform them? Through text ba??

Anyways I just registered on Amazon to get a feel for it before I actually buy from them... naconfuse ako sa shipping address part na ito when assuming that I would check out... please help me on this considering I'll be using JAC.

Any package irrespective of the seller basta dumating within the week, 1 handling fee lang yan..

Amazon may or may not ship the ordered items at the same time.  HIndi lang kasi iisa ang bodega nila.  Puwede sa location A manggagaling ang item 1, then location B ang item 2, etc.  So puwede hindi dadating sabaysabay.  If you order the item from a merchant sa Amazon, then this will be shipped by that merchant and not by Amazon, so the item may not arrived together with the items you ordered from Amazon.

You can advice your suking JAC agent in Manila that you are expecting several packages.  They can determine naman kung kelan dumating ang packages.  So if dumating within the week, then they can consider just 1 handling fee for all the packages.

i have a question about pre ordering in amazon.

when you pre-order an item in amazon (for example: a video game or a cd), when do they get shipped? before the release date, on the release date, or a few days after the release?

mga sirs, I know safe bumili sa amazon mismo but is it also safe po bumili sa mga ibang sellers sa amazon? I mean won't there be danger of the credit card being hacked?

Usually 1 or 2 days before release date, to make sure you get it on time for the actual release date (if you're in the States). I've had a few pre-ordered items shipped to the Philippines 3-4 days before official release. For reference on the items you mentioned, they don't ship video games to the Philippines, but they do ship CDs to us.

It is safe to buy from Amazon sellers, as far as credit card use is concerned. However:

1. They don't ship to the Philippines. Ok lang if you're shipping to someone in the States or any other countries covered by the Amazon marketplace terms.

2. Some of them place you on a mailing list. A little irritating, I got spammed a little bit last year after a purchase of a rare VHS tape from one seller.

thanks a lot for the reply sir. So, safe to use a credit card even if buying from sellers but there's still the danger of being spammed.
wala po ba gagawing action ang amazon in case of spammed? plan to purchase a hard-to-find CD from one of the sellers kasi

Help!

Amazon emailed me that my account had been closed due to the extraordinary amount of incidents.  I guess that mean lost packages, but I really lost those packages and they were mostly from last year, as I had dramatically slowed down my purchases owing to the same lost packages headaches.   Anyone else's had their account suspended before?  I emailed their account-appeals but unsure what their response will be..

if you want your amazon order handled by jac then you should register with jac first para, when you ship it to any of their u.s. offices they will know its for the philippines (may guidelines kasi). but if you have any relative in the u.s. who can bring the item back to you, you can order straight from amazon and have it ship to the relative's address in the u.s.

Hi!

Just wanna share my experience with Amazon.com when I bought 3 BDs last month and hopefully you guys can advice me on what I can do.

I bought my 3 BDs on Amazon.com late September and used their cheapest air fare for international shipments. During this time, I was not knowledgeable of any alternatives to use when shipping directly here in our country.

After around 10 days, I got a claim receipt from our local post office. I got excited since my package arrived 10 days early. Sad to say, I was mortified by the customs and duties that were given to me when the Officer opened the Amazon box and said that my items were taxable. It all amounted to around P1500 for 3 BDs.

I was saddened by what happened because I expected to have these items for free since I used my Amazon.com GC Balance to purchase these items + shipping. As for how I got that big of a Amazon.com GC Balance, you guys can visit and sign-up at www.mturk.com and do some tasks and get paid in GC Balances :D

So first question is, is this usually the case with customs meaning was my taxes due the correct amount? It seems too big for me!

Second, if I use JAC, will I avoid this customs and duties dilemma?

Third, can I buy electronics or video games from Amazon.com and shipped directly here through JAC even if the items are limited to U.S. residents only?

Thanks! ;D

Regret to hear about your bad experience brutalpanda.  :-[ In the past I too had went tru similar situation in my local post office. After switched to JAC service, I never look bad. For 3 BD, the fee for JAC would cost below P1,000.

There's no custom & duties when you use JAC.

Yes, you can buy any electronics or video games & use JAC service. My past purchases include: DVD, books, remote control, HDMI switcher, DVD & HD DVD player, PS3 games, etc. :)

The problem with Amazon is even though you tell them to consolidate your multiple items, they dont. So their are times that I have to pay multiple S/H.  >:(

I also asked JAC if they can do this for me, unfortunately they dont as well.  :-\

Today I received another package from JAC. It's my 4 BDs ordered from Amazon. Total cost is P820 only. :)

Hi Don, true... it also happened to me in the past esp on "pre-order" & "low stock" items. To provide better service, Amazon ships out your order (those already available) with free shipping while waiting for those "pre-order" or "low stock" items to be released/replenished, etc. This is where the problems comes in. Yeah it's free shipping but JAC will still charge us! So in order to avoid such situation, I usually put them all in my shopping cart until they are released & available before placing an order.

As for JAC, if you inform them early, they will wait (if within the same week) & send all packages at the same time to Phil thus charging a single "handling fee". Here, we can only save on the handling fee but not on the volume weight.

Hi Paul, most of my orders are readily available but still get the same handling. As per their customer service, since most of their items comes from different places, no chance or really collating the items. So the option of group my orders until it is all available is of no use. thanks paul.  ;)

I see...regret to hear about your predicament bro. Guess I'm considered very lucky with my orders as it only happened twice (one for an pre-order & one for a low stock item).

I understand when that happen it really sucks as we will have to pay extra charges to JAC.  :-[

That's the price we pay for getting what we want...it pays off at the end, i guess, since it's our hobby and we'll do anything and everything to get what we want as an enthusiasts, regardless of cost...(sometimes... ;)). :P

Hi pcchin!

Good to hear about that! P820 is way better than P1500 or even larger.

Just curious, how did JAC calculate the P820 price and did you use the fastest shipment option they have or is this already the slowest?

What frootloops meant was he is ready to pay for the shipping & handling cost but due to Amazon's ocassionally NOT consolidating multiple items even though specific instruction given to combine all items, hence it result in the buyer paying unnecessary extra fee. e.g. Why pay P1,800 when you were supposed to pay only P1,000 right? :)

During our strong peso value time, similar order would cost even cheaper.  :-\

There's no fast or slow shipping option from JAC. Amazon will ship order to JAC in New York (or New Jersey) then will ship to JAC Phil. You should be able to get your package within Average 10-14 days. :)

*brutalpanda, you may refer to the JAC thread for more info on the fee calculation.

Guys, is it actually cheaper to buy at amazon rather than buying it locally sometimes? I mean gusto ko kasi sana bumili ng Onkyo 606... the problem is Amazon's price is really tempting, pag naconvert lumalabas mga 18k lang... of course I still have to consider the shipping fee at JAC which I don't know how much it would cost. Does anybody have experience on buying an Onkyo at Amazon then shipping it by JAC? How much po lumabas sa fee ng JAC??

Dito kasi sa Pinas mga 25+k ang isang Onkyo 606... laki ng deperensya.

Depending on what you buy, as for DVD & BD, Amazon offers great selections & attractive prices (esp their promo!) plus good customer service (e.g. free shipping for US address). Overall, I would say it is very convenient shopping at Amazon & ship via JAC. One main factor, your package no need to go tru your local post office & face those "crocodiles" ready to eat you alive (there were many horror stories na depending which post office) :)

I also purchased HD DVD player previously from Amazon (the cheapest I could find with free shipping). You may refer to the JAC thread for more info on the shipping & fee calculation. Not sure about buying a receiver, I'm sure other members can advise.

Go to the JAC thread and do the computation, based on the weight of the 606. Keep in mind that if the 606 is double-boxed, you will likely be charged on "volume weight" which is more than actual weight.

Based on my previous orders of AVR's from Amazon, my guess is that it's not worth it to buy the 606 if the difference is 18k vs. 25k. The shipping costs a lot and you will have no local warranty. If the local cost is double, then you can start thinking of getting it from Amazon.

Anybody tried ordering from 6th Ave?  They already allow shipping electronics directly to the Philippines... The problem now will be how much customs taxes that you have to pay though..

Haven't tried them but I know their prices are extremely competitive. Would you know if they would agree to ship via JAC NJ?

I'm sure they do allow shipping via JAC NJ because I've tried it before.  I checked just now and tried checking out an electronic device (blu-ray player) and putting my Philippine address as the shipping address and it was allowed already.  Before kasi the policy of Amazon in general is not to allow shipping of any electronics to the Philippines.  Pero ngayon (at least with 6th Ave) puwede na.  For a bluray player, shipping fee is around $95.00.  Add to that customs tax once it arrives here.  How much ba usually ang standard rate ng customs tax natin for electronics?
