I'm planning to build an entertainment stand and would like the amp and speakers placed side by side. I am limited to a 1.2 meter length for the 3. Height is 0.5 meters from the floor. Will this affect imaging and sound stage? Any fixes? TV will be above the amp. TIA!

speakers would be too close, fine for a desktop setup but would tend to sound more "mono" as you listen farther.

Listener would be 2-3 meters away. Will it still sound mono? Setup will be between 2 doors so space is limited.

gano kalaki listening area sir? I suggest you change them to floorstanding then use the bookshelf (tsi 100) as surrounds..

ok rin ba ang BS na gamiting surround? or mas ok parin yung pang surround speaker talaga? wharfedale sana kunin ko kasi mura lang, pansamantala lang sana, habang nagiipon ng FS ng Dali para yung fron ko gawing ko surround in the future. ^-^

i have DALI fronts and center and Denon Reciever.

Mas ok pa rin ang BS compared to surround speaker na smaller. But if your talking bipole/dipole configuration sa surrounds, ibang usapan naman. matter of preference sa effect. One has the effect of being in the middle of the surround scene while the other will place you at the back. In your case, i'd get the same speaker as your fronts.
But if you ask me, kung kaya ng budget and room, i'd go for a big BS or small FS speaker with the presumption na ganun din ang fronts and center mo.

I've got a subwoofer question.

Recently got a Denon 1713 and did the Audyssey set up. Based on the instructions, I had to lower the volume to less than 50% because I was getting -12dB. After finally getting an acceptable level, what do I do next - do I turn the volume back up to 50%? Or will it be controlled by the sound level I set for the receiver?

After running Audyssey, yes you can turn the volume up to suit your preference.

You mentioned acceptable level, I suggest you leave it as is for a few hours of use to get a "feel" the Audyssey calibration. If you still think that the sub level is too low you can increase it by a few dB via the receiver. Easy lang sa pag-adjust ng gain, baka 'di makaya ng sub mo. Best not to change the gain on the sub itself if Audyssey had already set the sub level to within +/- 3dB.

^my sub level is actually -9.5. I was trying to tweak the volume to get to the +/-3dB range, but if my sub is at -3 (at only about 40% volume), parang masyado na siyang malakas. but i'll try Audyssey again one of these days, and check the new results. all my other speakers are in the -5dB to -7dB range, except for the sub.

Another question, this time on speakers:

I seem some floorstanders which are described as two-way or three-way. is "more" necessarily better?

Gurus, I just recently purchased a subwoofer for my HT. I'm finally now at 2.1 set-up (Yey!) after more than a year on just 2.0 previously. Tumagal din naman ako on that set-up kasi for me ok pa naman na walang sub. And syempre antay antay talaga sa MP for a great deal on subs. Now my question is, would adding a center speaker improve the HT considerably? as of now kasi di pa ko pede sa surrounds, no space pa talaga. So, should I go for the 3.1 (tama ba?) or just leave it sa 2.1 muna?

Let's just say that adding a center will make your sound field a solid 180degrees spread. Going full bore with surrounds is getting the full 360 degree treatment.

dapat voice matched ang center sa fronts for the improvement to be considerable. IF you can get a good center image from just your fronts AND you have a narrow listening area you can do away without a center. in my experience pangit pa ang overall sound pag di match ang center sa fronts.

^ you can get the polk audio OWM3 sa MP..I used those as surrounds..I mounted them sa wall since wala din ako space sa room..I put them on a wall using a mount that can pivot up/down side..

Question:

My Cayin A55TP has outputs for 8ohm speakers and 4ohm speakers.

6 ohms ang speakers ko na ikakabit.  San ko sya ilalagay?  The previous owner told me sa 4ohms ko ikabit.  Bakit sa 4ohms and not sa 8ohms?

Thanks in advance!

Even the owner's manual will tell you so. You may burn your amp with too much current when playing at high output levels if you connect your 6 ohm speakers to the 8 ohm tap.
