final decision has been made. :)

its MS avant series na :)

i dropped by 5th avenue kanina and pag uwi ko i made the final decision na. will buy the speakers more or less mid august to early september.

thanks sa lahat ng nag post and nag offer ng mga various information and feedbacks!

I wonder how MS avant series will sound with Yamaha. Better listen the speaker with your existing Yamaha. What MS avant series may sounds good with Marantz may probably not sound right to Yamaha.

actually MS sounds better with Yamaha than Marantz... again this is model dependent.  ;D

make sure to get at least two models above entry level.

i believe the models that start with 3 and 4 are entry level. i personally would buy the models that start with 6 above... given that the MS is still the better choice as the wharfs are harder to drive.

I agree. If you're sticking with your AVR, look for speakers that are easier to drive.

hi von musta! hehe eto na mag recommend narin po

hi ivann! i actually chose between the wharfes n MS din. own preference kasi when it comes with the final choice. better give a longer audition for both speakers n put in mind the characteristic also depends on the avr you'll use. as for the general characteristic ng wharfes n MS nandun na talaga sa kanila yun. for me i find the MS on the brighter side while the Wharfes on the more laid back against the MS. i liked the MS904 and it suits my listening preference thats why i chose it. either way naman you cant go wrong with those 2 brands bro

@ivannn - eventually i think you will also upgrade your receiver (SARS  ;D), in which case suggest you get a receiver with pre-outs. For me MS Avant sounds decent in both HT and Music but again kanya kanya preference kasi  ;)

bro kt have you installed a power amp for your Marantz + MS combo?

It really helps to have an open mind in this hobby - you really shouldnt deprive yourself of the many speakers brands available today for audition......wether on a tight budget or even without a budget ;D

Do give yourself a treat by also listening to non-mainstream brands - you might just find something that would tickle your ears in an unknown brand.
Seriously consider preowned speakers as well - as it gives the greatest value, IMHO. No need to break-in pa ;D

Who knows, there might be something for you hidden in the corner of an AV shop - just waiting for some TLC from a new owner ;) ........or in my case, the basement/warehouse of my favorite AV shop! :D ;D
