I forgot na because it was AVshop's cd.

Thanks sir. Baka may mare-recommend pa kayong ibang speakers besides the LSi9's, something cheaper with equivalent performance.

I honestly can't think of any (Maybe the LSi7?). It's such good value already.

You can step down a bit in sound quality if you want to pay less. Listen to speakers in your target price range, and decide if they're enough to satisfy you. :) There are a lot of decent budget options out there.

Polk Audio RTi A7 or Paradigm Monitor 9?
Polk Audio LSi9 or Paradigm Studio 20?

Yan lang kaya ng budget but leaning towards an FS.
Which would you recomend and can you include your reason?
TIA

Why don't you consider the Polk Audio RTi A3 bookshelf or the RTi A7 floorstanding speakers.

Went to avshop today and auditioned the following:
Polk's RTiA7 - good, but it seems this isn't good enough for me.
B&W 683 - better than A7 but the price is out of my reach.
Polk's LSi9 - best among the three speakers and pasok sa budget.

Too bad wasn't able to audition the Klipsch F3.
Thanks to James, very accomodating person and to Mark as well.

Next, audition Paradigm Monitor 9 and Studio 20.
The hunt goes on and on and on.

Already auditioned both LSi9 and Paradigm Monitor 9 tonight thanks to SnS.
Didn't get much time to audition Monitor 9 since somebody auditioned the big plasma tv after i listened to LSi9.
Might be the reason why I am leaning more towards LSi9.
The 4 ohms impedance of LSi9 is keeping me from not buying this speaker.
I don't have enough budget to buy a pair of speaker and upgrade my amp.

What speaker brand/model can you recommend around 40-45K that has an 8 ohms impedance, good sounding and good looking like LSi9?

Why don't you consider the Polk Audio RTi A5 floor standing speakers, they cost less then P45,000.

If you can a more powerful amplifer, The LSi 9 is really an amazaing speaker.

Thats the problem with the Polk Audio LSi series, you need a powerful amplifier to get the best out of these speakers. Unlike the Polk Audio RTi and TSi range which work well with 8 ohm amplifiers and receivers.

AVshop is located at unit 205 amaremca bldg, 107a kalayaan avenue, diliman, quezon city. They're open wednesday to sundays, 11am to 8pm.

Have you also considered 8 ohm speakers? I think they're easier to drive and not as power hungry as 4 ohm speakers.. and maybe more compatible with your TX-NR900  ;D

@mattmatt

Do you currently own a set of speakers or previously owned one?
I used to have a full set ot B&W 600 series 3, 602s3 for the fronts.
I'm still leaning on the LSi9 and I think it's really great.
If I have more funds I would try the CM7 of B&W

Goodluck on your hunt.
If you are to drop by avshop, pag nakita mo ang Kamayan resto malapit ka na.
You are within 10 blocks from avshop, nasa kabilang kalye ang building nila.
Nice place to audition speakers and very accomodating staff.

Hi All,

I'm newbie here at PinoyDVD. I'm in a process of building my HT setup and i would like to ask for your opinions on speakers. (bookshelf fronts, center and surrounds). I'm a music guy (listening mostly on rnb, hiphop, and alternative genre). Also I would use it for watching movies (mostly action movies). What brand of speakers would you recommend? any inputs would be highly appreciated. My budget is around 30k-40k for the 3 (bookshelf fronts center and surrounds). Also an AVR (budget is 20k)to power these speakers. (if my current amp is not enough). Currently. I have 2 12" JBL GT5 series DIY subs (gusto ko kasi malakas bass.. ;D ;D ;D). What do you suggest to match this subs?.. I'm only using  Konzert amplifier AV-502 to power these subs. Is this amp can also handle the additional speakers? (sana kaya pa.. hehe.. tight kasi budget).

These are some of the brands on my list. I've auditioned these 2 brands and they both sounds great. (Sana mayroon pa mas maganda dito na pasok sa budget.  ;D ;D ;D)

Polk Audio - TSI series
Klipsch - RB51 and 61 series.

Any inputs will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance and more power PinoyDVD.

Good choices sir. It would also be good kung you will bring your AV/R when auditioning so you would know if it the speakers would match your amp according to your preference. you can also consider wharf 10s. mordaunt short, infiniti, JBLs.
