if youre just going to watch cable tv/regular dvd go for the smaller size..
if you have a decent scaler or hd players go for the 37".

from my experience...nakakainis manuod ng cable/dvd sa malaking tv kung pangit ang scaler...

All the promotions around get you to buy a TV and then get "vouchers" offering discounts on many other  items but you must add more cash in most cses to buy. But If you intended to buy all those items in the first place then the deal is fairly attractive.  In my opinion many of the companies are offering thopse deals to clear there shelves for the 2007 models which are  now 1080P as opposed to the 720p now in the market?

One company offered me an exceptional deal on Sony TV's using these vouchers and thes are 1080P as well as the other  models.  They also carry other brands as well.  The store was sights and sounds fourth floor in Shangrila plaza.

i couldn't agree more.. have you ever wondered why these dealers are giving a lot of freebies?? it's precisely this reason, or another could be is that nobody is buying that particular model or brand... i heard from one of these international business news is that manufacturers of LCD's and plasma will increase production (also with better specs) by so much percent thus flooding the market ergo: PRICE DROP.... you may have the best today, how about tomorrow?? technology never stops... just my two cents po..

i was just at MOA the other week and saw this models at SM appliance store i think:

sharp 32BX5M for P75,000
sharp 37BX5M for P95,000

seems like a good value already. just don't know if it came with any significant freebies.

I want your guys opinions. Is the Sharp aquos lcd a better buy than the Sony bravia s series seeing how it has more the 3million pixels as opposed to the Sony bravia's 1 megapixel count? Also the Sharp has a faster response time of 6ms as compared to the 8ms of the Sony. Shouldn't the picture quality of the Sharp lcd be better than that of the Sony? Or am I missing something here? Hoping for some feedback before I get my lcd tv. Thanks in advance!

hi, jus went to rp yesterday and ask the abenson guy about sharp LC-32AX5M compared to sonoma of samsung. sbi nya ang samsung is only 1megapixel wyl sharp is about 3megapixel daw..

Is the Sharp aquos lcd a better buy than the Sony bravia s series seeing how it has more the 3million pixels as opposed to the Sony bravia's 1 megapixel count?

I've never heard of a "3 million pixel" TV.

Full HD is 1,920 pixels x 1,080 pixels.  1920 x 1080 = 2,073,600.  Rounded off, that's 2 million pixels or 2 megapixels.  If the highest resolution source is 2mp, why make an LCD panel with a 3mp resolution?  The TV will have to upconvert the signal, which would probably produce a worse picture.

There are LCD panels with resolutions of up to 6mp, but they're for medical use (such as digital x-rays), not consumer TVs.

i think they do. the brochure says 1366x768x3 = 3.1 mp. that's one each for R,G, and B.

If so, then the brochure fails to distinguish between a pixel and a subpixel.

1,366 x 768 = 1,049,088.  Rounded off, that's 1 million pixels.  1 million pixels x 3 for each R, G and B = 3 million subpixels, not 3 million pixels.

A megapixel is 1 million pixels, not 1 million subpixels.

If you mean the 32AX5M, it can be P65K at Abenson, Festival Mall, just try to haggle ;D

I was referring to the 37" 37AX5M model, which can be P99.999K for 12 months 0% interest.

I just came from Abensons in Robinsons Galleria and the salesman is offering me the Sharp 37BX5M for only 89998, 0% interest 12 months to pay w/ free wall mount. Cash price is 83500. Seems like a pretty
good deal. However, I am wondering how does it perform with cable? Anyone who has bought this unit?
I would like to hear your feedbacks before purchasing it. On the other hand  I am also looking at the new
Toshiba Regza 37wl68e. This is supposed to be a 100hz model and has 2 tuners and pip. I was also wondering if the cable broadcast would be better than other lcds brands like Philips and Sony. However this unit it also more expensive at 98000 Cash at Fair & Square. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks in advance!

Has anyone seen the px5m model here in the Philippines?  I looked it up in the net and it looks sweet!

BTW, I continue hearing about the problem of Sharp after sales service.  Anyone care to comment on what exactly the problem is?

the 37" px5m is on display at western and sm appliance in megamall. they're around 10k more expensive than the bx5m models. they now have a piano black finish. back panel for the input connections are now open unlike in the bx series which has a cover. pq looks a bit sharper than the bx series when i checked at western. unfortunately they had px hooked up via hdmi while the bx beside it was on component.  ;D

Any comment on after sales?  Im just wondering if the problem is that they are difficult to deal with, are not able to fix the problem or whether it just takes a long time to fix anything.  At any rate, what are the usual problems?

i was interested with the 37 inch lcd but picture quality is not good when i demoed it side by side with philips and toshiba. besides, i have been hearing bad feedback about their after sales so i decided to go with another brand.

i have been hearing bad feedback about their after sales...

Is there a separate thread on bad Sharp Aquos after sales service?  Tempting na talaga yung LC-37BX5M.  They just lowered it down further to 85k now, with 12-month 0% interest (no freebies except for wall mount).  I'm sure cash buyers will have further discounts.

So far, ito na talaga yung best deal na nakita ko, among the big name, reputable brands.  I hope someone can shed some light with the "bad after sales service".

Made the big leap to flat panel, LCD TV technology.  Got the Sharp Aquos 37BX5M last Saturday night.  Been in break in mode all day yesterday.  Really great panel, so far I'm very satisfied with it.

Bahala na yung bad rep nila about after sales service.  ??? I'm hoping the unit is durable enough for me not to need any, in the next few years.
