HT Advice: Neat looking tower speakers that can rock.
« on: Jan 03, 2007 at 09:48 AM »
Now that I got a 2-channel setup, I'm looking to buy an HT setup built around a Yamaha RXV1200 AVR and a CHT-10R sub.

I'm looking for something neat and non-obtrusive like those thin tower-like speakers given for free by the likes of Sony or Samsung when you buy an LCD TV.  Yun nga lang baka pang HTIB ang sound quality nung mga yun. Do you guys know of any HT speaker of that type that will give traditional HT monitors a run for their money?

Thanks.

There are also slim Pioneer FS speakers, very unobtrusive and sleek, like those Bang & Olufsen speakers and Nakamichi lifestyle speakers.

Since you already have a good subwoofer andyou want something unobtrusive,  even small bookshelf speakers will do as well.  There are so many choices out there, lmited only by your budget.

Thanks avphile, will certainly look into those.

I was initially eying small bookshelves (like Wharfes, Q-Accoustics, etc.) pero I decided I want to avoid the hassle of wallmounting.  I'm also hesitant about using speaker stands because I have kids running around the house.  Those slim towers not only look nice but they look stable enough to withstand sideswiping by speeding kiddos.  :)

Try Castle satellite speakers. They are sealed types so you can place them on cabinets. 80hz cut off nya, perfect w/ subs.

You will be surprised how they sound in music.

I home auditioned these, GALING! even with tubes.
