I picked up a copy yesterday and checked it out last night. HOLY CRAP! THIS IS AWESOME! I haven't seen Robotech series for a while (ep85 of Sentinels) and have completely forgotten about them (with the exception of Macross Plus and Macross Zero). Old heroes have returned like Rick Hunter who is now old but is an Admiral; Ariel (an Invid) is back, and so her lover Scott Bernard; Janice, or better yet J.A.N.I.C.E. (Junctioned Artificial Neuro Integrated Cybernetic Entity) who is a hybrid human and Haydonite; Maia Sterling, new leader of Skull Squadron and also the daughter of Dana Sterling and Max and Miriya Sterling's granddaughter; Vince Grant, Claudia Grant's son and Bowie Grant's father; Marcus, younger brother of Marlene (from Sentinels). The Shadow Chronicles also includes a few tributes to the original series, such as opening with the original Macross Saga theme (a well placed, abridged rendition of Lynn Minmay's "We Will Win" - surprisingly, a small line was sung by Janice at the end), and the return of the famous Skull Squadron from the Macross Saga. In addition, Alpha and Beta fans will be pleased to see the return of the mecca, who are shown off in all their CGI glory in several complex battle sequences.

If you're an old school mecha fan of Robotech,
IT'S BACK! Seems that I will be getting the entire
