Fox Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of The Last King of Scotland for 17th April 2007 priced at $29.98 SRP. Based on chilling, actual events and adapted from Giles Foden’s award-winning debut novel of the same name, The Last King of Scotland follows former African dictator Idi Amin’s (Forest Whitaker in his Oscar nominated role) rise to power and subsequent fall from grace chronicled from the perspective of his personal physician, a young Scotsman (James McAvoy) blinded by Amin’s charisma and who ultimately must confront both the reality of Amin and face the consequences of his own actions.

Available in separate Widescreen and Full Screen versions the film is presented in English Dolby Surround 5.1 as well as Spanish and French Dolby Surround and English, Spanish and French subtitles. Bonus materials include:

Can't wait for this. I reallly wanna see this badly, Forest Whitaker's Oscar nominated (posibly Oscar win) is one of my most atticipated films of 2006.  ;D
