Juon/Grudge (Same director)
Open your eyes (Spanish original)/Vanilla sky (same actress in both movies made in different countries. That is rare)

I like this topic, since I always go out of my way looking for originals/remakes to add to my collection. My only cheat here are some sets that include 2 films in one package (Like Ben-Hur, etc.)

18. Godzilla (1956/1998)

mr. hankey.....................

this is wrong because this 1956 godzilla is already an edited version of the japanese original, may scenes were cut, around 40 minutes from the original.

it was made by intercalating scenes of raymond burr as a reporter in tokyo, and this is called a spoof in godzilla fandom.

the orginal godzilla or gojira was made and released in 1954 by toho containing 98 minutes, hence, we cannot consider this as an original...................... they are both re-releases/remakes

But don't you think the 1988 American "remake" is also equally ridiculed "in godzilla fandom"?  8)

maraming nag riridicule sa 1988 remake pero maraming bumoboto sa imdb..................

they even call it GINO..........godzilla in name only

disgusted daw sila sa remake pero why are they viewing it??????????????

or why did they still view it?????????
bandwagon lang yon at maraming nakigaya, sabi nila di maganda pero base lang sa bandwagon, di nila sariling opinion

at halos lahat yata ng tao {too many to mention} nanood na non

So if it's "GINO"... then it is the remake of the 1956 Raymond Burr version... 'di ba?  ;D
