Has anybody heard from Johnny Air recently?  I e-mailed them around two weeks ago asking for details and I still don't have a response.

Does anyone have the latest on Johnny Air? Do they still accommodate us PinoyDVD members?

I emailed Aura Black last week but still haven't received a reply.

I emailed Aura Black last week but still haven't received a reply.

I got my ist package c/o Johnny Air Cargo.
The first package that I ordered from Tower Records before Christmas was lost along in transit,  so they resend another one, but the sad thing is...they split my order in two packages!

Anyway, got my dvd's yesterday and I'm still waiting for the other one.

Thanks...Leyden I'll bring you sapin-sapin one of these days!  8)

Jaycat, if you haven't receive any email from them..just call them thru landline...their service is one of the best!

thanks for your feedback, keating!

earlier today i was calling Johnny Air on the makati HQ phone numbers listed on their website, but no one was answering.

finally i was able to talk to Leyden on 812-4702 (a number listed in a much earlier post).  i was told that aura black is in davao, so that explains why i wasn't getting any replies to my emails. she answered my questions right away and will email me their proposal. so i guess i'm on a roll now.

kala ko Leyden and Aura Black are both based in Johnny Air New York. dito lang pala sila sa makati! gawd, what a moron i am!

Ditto :D.  Good service.  No post office customs blues.  Amazon sucks though :(.  Ang bagal.  May computer glitch pa kaya daw na delay yung orders ko.  But once Johnny Air NYC received the packages, it just took a week to for JAC to have these in Manila ready for picking up.

yup, it applies to anything but they also use what is called as volume weight so for things such as toys which weigh light but are very big. the volume weight is the one applied. found that out the hard way. also, i think the rate is 5.5 per pound with a minimum of 1 pound plus the handling fee. 1 pound is equivalent to about 3 dvds

When, where, how do I pay the $10.50?
When...when I pick it up at JAC Mkti?
Where...in JAC Mkti?
How...$10.50 converted to pesos?

Hope you can clarify.  I'm thinking of trying this option.

Thank you.

From what I remembered dun sa email ni Aura, I think it goes with all the items pero there are other items like digicams and laptops and other stuff that have special handling fees.   ;)

1. You'll pay $10.50 when your package arrives and you have two options where to pick it up, Greenbelt or JAC Sm Megamall.

2. They will inform/call you when your package arrives.

3. Sorry, I don't know their branch in Greenbelt, makati.

4. Yes, it will be converted to pesos.

Start shopping GL2814, tumataas ang dollar rate.  ;D

you can even instruct them to drop it off at your house. that is what i did with my first 2 orders. the guy who calls you will say that "you can pick it up in their branch", but you can insist for delivery at no extra cost  ;D

If I have several items that arrive on different dates at their New York branch, can I request to have them shipped together at a specified date para maka-save sa shipping cost?

yvette,
sorry but i don't think they can do that except on pakiusap. had to stop ordering from amazon and deepdiscountdvd because of this of the fact that these 2 online vendors will send their shipments in multiple packages. jac-ny doesn't have the facility to hold shipments because they ship as soon as they receive it.

They don't combine multiple packages for just one shipping. Malulugi naman yata sila, so be sure when you are ordering on-line make it 100% that your orders will only be shipped in one package.  8)

Kenis din yung in-orderan kong on-line store - told them to hold off my order until all are in - pero they went ahead and shipped... nasa JAC mega na package ko and it's a matter of picking it up there.

it's not jac's fault naman if the online retailer opts to ship your order by batches.

A nice review on Johnny Air:

My package arrived yesterday (Feb.25,2003), and they contacted my landline and told me to pick up the stuff at Megamall JAC branch. Went there today (Feb. 26) to pick up the package - to my surprise yung Boxed set na in-order ko from www.digitaleyes.net cost me P1,300something - malaki naman kasi ang packaging and it says 3.5 lbs (although 'di ko pina-test sa weighing scale) - surprisingly, the other package (which are toys) which also felt lighter than the DVDs cost me P2,700something - ('di ko rin pina-test) - the items were already pre-weighed at nakasulat na sa contract ang dapat kong bayaran - they also said that the size of the item affects the shipping rate - although they labeled it 7 lbs. I weighed the toy package when I got home (with box and everything) and it just weighted 4 lbs - yung boxed set na DVD 3 lbs. lang - by the way - I used a kitchen scale - yung pang-kilo ng mga baboy.

I'm a bit disappointed because the items were a steal at their price - the toys just cost me P1,500 and the boxed set at P2,000 - maybe I should have just used regular shipping and took my chance since konti lang ito (I heard that Antipolo post office is OK when it comes to packages - got some books and shipped it there - P20 bucks lang).

Yup, JAC is efficient - pero I did'nt have a very enjoyable first time and I would caution would be users especially when having items other than DVD shipped to you... I will be giving another thought when planning to use the JAC option.

Next time, I think I would request a package check (weight and dimension) before having it shipped. Just my 2 cents - not a story to let-down would be users... some are lucky, some are not - thankfully the items I got are worth the extra buck - pero masakit talaga...  :'(

hey people i use johnny air and i think they're great. though you must more or less be sure of the packages you send and that they are sent at the same time. If you have friedns down in the US always be sure to send the items first if you have other things beside dvd's and have them repackage stuff if they can with a 6x6x8 box. that way you'll be able to make sulit the price of your package. I never had any problems except for one time i decide to use their La office and my frnd who sent me a cd single lang ended up becoming a small fortune. I bought the disc in the US and the price of the disc was 5 US except in was waiting list when it got here i paid 950 pesos talk about rip off. And the package used was really small parang little envelope i tired to ask but they kept on saying LA office daw. Didnt want to argue any further kaya i just kep my mouth shut and brought hme my measly single.
