Currently, Amazon.com's product page for the HD-DVD release does not contain artwork or specs. Only that it will be in Combo format.

Warner Home Video have announced the US Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD release of 300 on 31st July 2007. The epic graphic novel by Frank Miller (Sin City) assaults the screen with the blood, thunder and awe of its ferocious visual style faithfully recreated in an intense blend of live-action and CGI animation. Retelling the ancient Battle of Thermopylae, it depicts the titanic clash in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and his massive Persian army. Experience history at swordpoint. And moviemaking with a cutting edge.

Released on HD DVD Combo (HD30/DVD9, $39.99 SRP) and Blu-ray Disc (BD50, $34.99 SRP) the film is presented in 1080P Widescreen with English, French and Spanish 5.1 Surround (Dolby Digital on Blu-ray Disc, Dolby Digital Plus on HD DVD), English Dolby True HD 5.1 Surround and optional English, French and Spanish subtitles.

Extras are TBC, but likely to match the 2-Disc Special Edition DVD release.

I heard the DVD of this film would be available this fall.  But it's amazing a pirated true DVD copy complete with behind the scenes features is available this early. I know it's taboo around here to talk about pirated stuff.  Just FYI only.     Someone must have leaked the DVD materials for this film.  Rather than preempt my future purchase of the legit DVD, getting this one actually has whetted my appetite to get the fully featured one.  Hopefully it gets a steelbook packaging at least.

DVD gives '300' fans even more combat

Fans should expect even more fantastical combat when the epic "300m" arrives in a two-disc special edition DVD on July 31 ($35; single disc, $29).

Among the deleted scenes, says director Zack Snyder, "there's one with the giants and midget archers in Xerxes' army. We cut it out of the movie because it was just too crazy." Another extra scene features the shunned hunchback Ephialtes. Snyder also participates in a commentary. (All of the bonus content is included on $40 HD DVD and $35 Blu-ray versions, out the same day.)

Snyder's favorite extra is "300: Fact or Fiction" "that talks about the idea of the Thermopylae myth and how it existed as myth before it existed as history," he says. "That's what the movie is to me. It's how the story was told by the Greeks to each other."
