... how about Hitachi 42PD9500 hindi kaya ako magsisi kung kunin ko ito.
The Hitachi plasmas have a known issue: Contrast Fluctuation. Baka hindi ka masiyahan.
Any comment on this particular model. This is currently on sale Php 109,950 less Trade Old TV 14,070 Net 95,880 (Php 3,995 @ 24 Mth)
Panasonic 42PWD8 Plasma is an EDTV (480p native res) commercial model (no tuner, no speakers). 7th generation ito, so mahal pa rin, kasi 2006-07 is now Panasonic's 9th gen.
Dito sa pinoydvd, sir tylerdude's Panasonic 42" Plasma is the record holder for the cheapest 1st-tier brand new plasma TV:
i bought a panasonic viera th-42pa60h from the home theater for only 90k. would you know what's the difference with your model? the specs are almost the same.
The Panasonic Viera TH-42PA60H is an EDTV consumer model (with analog broadcast tuner and speakers). 9th generation, with 1 HDMI input. Probably imported from Singapore.

I will use it mostly for DVD viewing and very seldom for TV viewing ...
All standard DVDs are encoded in 480i resolution (for NTSC). If you will be using your plasma mainly for DVD, an EDTV will be a near-perfect resolution match. A 720p panel will introduce unnecessary upscaling for DVDs, and will still have to downscale HD videos.
On the other hand, an EDTV will have almost no scaling for DVDs. While the EDTV will have to downscale an HD image, the picture will still be very good (in fact, probably even better than standard DVD), since it's easier to process downscaling than upscaling.
If you get an HD plasma now, hindi pa rin full HD yon.
My strategy is to get an EDTV with HDMI connection now. Pag marami nang digital TV stations sa Pinas, upgrade na lang ako ng TV. By that time, siguradong ang locally available Panasonic plasma ay mas mura na, may DVB-T tuner pa, at full HD (1080p res) pa. By that time, siguradong mas mura rin ang HD discs at players; baka nga universal HD players pa.
