helios h4000, can even do 1080p over component if your display can take 1080p

most likely, no.  it's available online $US169 and i think they are offering free shipping until 5-april-2007.  just go to their website and ask a question if it covers the philippines as well.

you can look at this thread:  http://pinoydvd.com/board/index.php?topic=58687.28

it is best to ask the members here who already got their units via ordering online.

shalom :)

I think Kelly still has a few units of the Samsung HD841, and it's a steal at only 6k!  Please see this thread.  It's a US unit, so 110V.  He has all the firmware upgrades put in already, so all known issues should be resolved.  And multi-region na.

Convenient pa, because you can pick up the unit at nearby DAP (San Miguel Ave, Ortigas) -- very near your office.

Read through the thread.  Dami satisfied customers.

how about samsung DVD-1080P7?
http://www.samsung.com/sg/products/dvdplayer/dvdplayer/dvd_1080p7.asp

This upconverts up to 1080p via HDMI. No hack yet to output the same to component. Costs 199sgd (6k pesos) here in Singapore.

I got one today. 1080p7 uses the same multi-region hack as HD850. Most likely same software and the hack to upconvert via component may work as well. Quite busy now, I'll try it some other time.

The upconvert via HDMI has slight improvement compared to HD850. Havent tried the 1080p yet, my projector can do 720p/1080i only. Anyway, i like it bec of its black color that matches my Sanyo Z3.
