tried the 9500 for gaming in my ps3 and some movies in 2:40 aspect ratio (with black bars)....yes there is image retention, which I can only notice in full black screen.......fortunately, it goes away.   After the careful break-in, I dont even think about that image retention fear in my flat panel...... :D

Any guys got experience with Hitachi's 50PD9900TC.
I think its at 16000 to 19000 yuan, but somebody's offering it to me at 110k.

http://product.pcpop.com/000038965/Picture.html

hi, archie. is that offer for one unit only.... or is there several available? this could be a very good offer if ever, given that it's a branded product... and i suppose a pretty recent panel given its resolution of 1280x1080. here's what i got from my quick browsing:

Quote
Time to market and positioning :
October 2006 high-end market
Comments on which products : 50PD9900TC

。As the market-oriented high-end Hitachi 50PD9900TC using the 1280 x 1080 resolution, and the adoption of domestic HDTV certification.
。Using new phosphor Gamut wide range of color temperature reduction accurate.
。With the two groups and a group HMDI VGA and s-video interface, the price has fallen to 20,000 yuan. the 50-inch plasma market is a better cost performance.

Analysis of competing goods :
。A Hitachi 55 PD8900TC is one of the early products, 55PD8900TC did not use ALIS screen technology, Therefore it is not like 50 PD9900TC turn, Therefore static images in 50 PD9900TC better price than your 50 PD9900TC a lot.

as far as i know, depende ata sa aspect ratio, i cant use the zoom function when in hdmi, para mawala yung bars.........diko pa nasubukan sa 480p.  nung break in, I stayed away from movies in 2:35, and 2:40 aspect ratio....pumili ako ng 1:78 or 1:85.

yours have the motorized swivel right?  i remember when i was unpacking the panel, mine has the cable for that feature, but none of i/o connection......

congrats sa purchase sir.... ;D ;D

Dakal samalat! Yup it is the one with the motorized swivel  ;) I actually reserve for a 9500 a month ago, kaya lang when I came back from the US feeling ko naubusan na sila ng stocks kaya they were pushing me to get the 9800  ;D ;D Ok na din naman for 10k difference I get dual tuner and some other extras. They offer also 5k discounts if I traded in an old working TV  ;)

Sige sir I will also stay away from the 2:35 disc. I also noticed that when I select natural the contrast setting always change to +30 even if I set it to zero. Ganun ba talaga? Thanks very much again!
