Another incredible news!

'The Incredibles' Blu-ray Dated

The Pixar smash hit is in the works for a Blu-ray release in April!

Disney/Buena Vista is working on the animated superhero blockbuster 'The Incredibles' starring the voices of Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Jason Lee, and Samuel L. Jackson for a Blu-ray release on April 12.

The film about a family of undercover superheroes trying to live the quiet suburban life and are forced into action to save the world.

Specs and supplements have yet to be revealed, but the release will be 4-disc set consisting of two Blu-rays, a DVD, and a digital copy.

MY TWO CENTS - 1/14/11 - by Digital Bits editor Bill Hunt

... What's more, our sources are NOW telling us that WHV (and their now in-house New Line label) is ALSO planning to release Peter Jackson's long-awaited The Lord of the Rings Trilogy: Extended Editions on Blu-ray sometime this year. No kidding. We suspect that, now that The Hobbit films are finally about to begin filming, the studio is eager to get more product on store shelves to keep the franchise fresh in the minds of fans. The Extended Rings films on BD are the obvious choice for this year. Farther down the line, of course, there will be the obvious Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D versions of The Hobbit films, and sooner or later an "ultimate" box set of all the films with all new extras custom created by Jackson. Anyway, we're told to expect some kind of official news from the studio on their extensive plans on this title in the next several weeks.

Warner ba sir ang Philippine version? European version is Warner, released in December 2010 yata:

Hi sir Barrister, its warner. I think its the european version (same version you posted). The review you posted is quite accurate. I did not really like the pq that much. It's ok lang for me.

Parang nga War of the Worlds and Minority report in terms of pq. i find it quite grainy. Some scenes look pretty good. Audio is quite good, pretty clear.

For the US (Paramount) release, baka pareho lang ang gamitin na HD master, sobrang lapit kasi ng release dates ng 2 versions. But I'll wait for the US reviews just in case.

Pero kung War of the Worlds and Minority Report ang quality, e di ang ganda nun ...

Those two BDs are grainy, but the grain and over-all rendition are very natural and film-like.

May review pala sa dvdbeaver, and they like it. Not demo-quality, but I'm confident that it's going to look faithful to the original film presentation:

Ya if you like natural grain and filmlike look. Imo this bd has it. Ok naman for me overall, but I'm one of the few

that don't like grain type, natural looking movies hehe.

I really had a hard time with war of the worlds pq wise haha, I kinda hated it..I'm used to the pq of lets say 2012, king kong etc.

Depende sa film.

Kung walang grain ang orig, dapat wala ring grain ang BD (for example: Beowulf). Kung may grain ang orig, dapat ma-reproduce yon exactly on the BD (for example: Saving Private Ryan).

Pag tinaggal ang grain, hindi gaganda yon, lalong papangit. Ang side-effect kasi ay lalabo ang fine details.

For example, the Patton BD is controversial because of DNR (digital noise reduction) use. Here's a screencap comparison between the BD and the HD broadcast of Patton. The film grain on the sky is greatly reduced, but the side-effect is that details on the face are also greatly reduced:

My guess for the intended release date is around Christmas season 2011.

That's why they're saying "2011 or 2012". In case of a slight delay in production schedule, January 2012 na agad yon.
