Once Upon a Time in America: Extended Director's Cut Blu-ray

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has officially announced the Collector's Edition Blu-ray release of the Extended Director's Cut of Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in America. The extended version features 22-minutes of additional footage, bringing the runtime to 251 minutes, and was supervised by the film's original sound editor, Fausto Ancillai. The Extended Director's Cut makes its U.S. Blu-ray debut on September 30th.

Ghostbusters I & II 30th Anniversary Blu-rays

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on Blu-ray Ghostbusters I & II 30th Anniversary Editions.

The Blu-ray releases will be available for purchase on September 16th.

Following the theatrical release of the film, on September 16, fans will be able to own the Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary Edition on Blu-ray and the Ghostbusters II 25th Anniversary Edition, as that film makes its Blu-ray debut. The Sony Pictures Home Entertainment releases of the films will also be available in a two-disc anniversary edition Blu-ray Digibook including both films, as well as a Limited Edition Gift Set that includes an exclusive collectible Slimer figurine and the two-disc Digibook. This special gift set will only be available for a very limited time, with the collectible Slimer figurine being a true must-have for fans.

Both films have been fully restored and remastered in 4K and will be presented in high definition on Blu-ray from those 4K sources.

Warner Announces Diamond Luxe Anniversary Edition Blu-rays

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced five new anniversary titles, the first to be released as part of the studio's new Diamond Luxe Edition line. The launch films include The Green Mile, Natural Born Killers, Forrest Gump, Gremlins and Ben-Hur, most of which include new special features.

All five Diamond Luxe Anniversary Edition titles are being made available on Blu-ray on September 30th.

Shôgun Blu-ray Detailed

Paramount Home Entertainment has detailed the Blu-ray release of executive producer James Clavell's Shôgun, starring Richard Chamberlain, Toshiro Mifune, Yoko Shimada, John Rhys-Davies, Frankie Sakai, Damien Thomas and Orson Welles. The landmark 1980 NBC miniseries makes it North American Blu-ray debut on July 22nd.

Stanley Kubrick: The Masterpiece Collection Amazon Exclusive Blu-ray

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and Amazon have revealed an exclusive 10-disc Blu-ray release of Stanley Kubrick: The Masterpiece Collection. The set includes eight classic Kubrick films, three previously released documentaries and two newly-produced documentaries: "Kubrick Remembered" and "Stanley Kubrick in Focus." Also included is yet another documentary, "Once Upon a Time... A Clockwork Orange," which is new to the U.S., and a 78-page hardcover photo book.

The exclusive set is already available for pre-order and arrives on November 4th.

The Masterpiece Collection features Lolita (1962), Dr. Strangelove (1964), 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), A Clockwork Orange (1971), Barry Lyndon (1975), The Shining (1980), Full Metal Jacket (1987) and Eyes Wide Shut (1999).

"Kubrick Remembered" offers a new look into the Kubrick archives, with special appearances by the director's wife, Christiane Kubrick, as well as never-seen footage of Stanley's works, his house and his film production facilities. "Stanley Kubrick in Focus" presents such directors as Steven Spielberg, Steven Soderbergh, Oliver Stone, William Friedkin and Martin Scorsese relating how Kubrick's directorial style influenced their work.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Extended Edition Blu-ray

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has officially announced both the 3-disc standard Blu-ray and 5-disc 3D Combo Pack releases of director Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Extended Edition.

Both versions of the 186-minute Extended Cut arrive on Blu-ray on November 4th.

The new Extended Cut includes 25 minutes of additional film footage that extends individual scenes, making this the must-see, definitive version for fans. Both versions of the Extended Edition include more than nine hours of new bonus features that also enrich the experience of the Trilogy as fans gear up for the December 17th theatrical release of the third and final film, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.
