Any recommendations? Looking at the 59k na samsung then 0% or a regza i saw in shangrila for 52k 0% also.

my budget would be 60k max...cheaper the better.,..freebies appreciated also since i dont have a HT setup in my room yet. pwede rin ako mag cash if it saves a significant amount of money.

planning to use this for dvds and an xbox 360.

if you are not conscious of the brand there are 32" lcds from aoc and mag that can be had for 35k cash basis.

saw the mag but mejo malayo ang quality sa branded ones. looking for a keeper lcd tv already. but i guess malaki rin ang savings.

There are Samsung 32" models that go for less than 60K
Check out the ingoing Anson's sale at the Glorietta activity center
There'a a Sharp 37-incher that goes for less than 70 or 80K I think

ok na! narrowed it down to:

1) Samsung S81 32" 50k cash
2) Toshiba Regza 32wl66 48k cash

Was able to audition the regza...ganda nung speakers for built in ones. couldnt hear the one of samsung since ang ingay sa abenson demo in shang. they even used a pirated dvd to demo the unit to me..sheesh :p

any inputs? i really like the looks of both but the samsung looks brighter. is this due to the glossy screen?

I've seen these two models, and my personal pick would be the S81 due to crisper color and better black level due to higher contrast ratio. It's not due to the glossy screen.

The Regza have a better sound quality, less pixelation. But, color rendetion is too soft for me.

On aesthetics, I prefer the design of Samsung.

Customer Service - Samsung have a good reputation. Can't comment about Toshiba.

But that's just me.

thats what i also notice. regzas colors are a little soft but it looks ok to me. personally i think the samsungs colors are a bit exaggerated. in reality im ok with both.

in terms of sound quality off the box is the regza that better to the samsung?

as for warranty, i inquired in shangrila...daming free service. free installation, calibration etc. they even provide a tv when yours is under repair! wow! forgot the shop name though. its in a brochure somewhere. lol.

sirs, how about the 32" of philips, which also sells at 69k (from original of 90k++)?
I was able to check it also this weekend (when i was about to buy the R81 of samsung), though it only has a contrast ratio of 3200:1 vs 8000:1 of samsung. But when compared the picture side by side, philips performed better (IMHO). Philips has fine lines/edge than samsung, again based only on my observation. Though I was not able to check the pixellation.
The philips model is late 2006, while that of samsung is just fresh.

Now I am very much confused...

yun nga eh...samsung is a fresh model so im considering that. philips is out of the budget range. try checking out the regza as well... sub 50k pag cash!

now its samsung vs toshiba vs philips

Store settings are usually to the max. At least you'll see at the store how far it can deliver. With the Samsung, at least you'll have more headroom with the color adjustment if you set it later to a less saturated setting.

I prefer the sound quality of the Regza. But I didn't bother much about SQ when I was looking for my TV. I use the TV's own sound only with TV broadcast anyway.

As to customer service, what you mentioned above are also what others provide. The difference lies on the actual delivery of such services. I've experienced bad service lately and I'm sharing it to others for them to be aware. Ask around about the customer service of the different brands, and make it as one of your major criteria since these are not cheap TV's, especially for an average person like me.

the hitachi ld9000 just went down in price to the 50k range! 49k cash to be exact. pwede rin to.

colors were brighter than the regza.

CS is through the company/distributor of the brand. You can course it through the store, but still they'll throw it back to the company/distributor of that brand.

a friend was supposed to buy a 32" regza but changed his mind at the last minute as he found the samsung better, i still tend to think though that the displays at department stores are not optimized so you tend to judge them as you see it, not on their actual performance. I wasnt there when he was comparing displays so i cant comment on why he prefers the samsung. I also wouldnt put emphasis on sound quality as i prefer to let my sound system do that. you cant expect much sound especially from flat panels.

wala pang budget for a home theater system eh lol. so i gotta do with the built in ones for half a year or so. nice thing about the samsung ones is that they offer it at a good price for 0%. will try to audition the newly released regza as the ones i saw were last year's models

lam ko pde 18 mos pa pero plus 5k for the HT

theyll probabaly give it for free pag 12 or 6mos lng

im planin down 30k then 6mos para free HT

low budget lng e

was in shang last sat near tokyo2 may exzibit abensons.. muntik nko napabili..

sinisiraan ng guys ng philips and LG yng samsung..kesyo peke daw yng 7000 cont ratio, wala daw pip etc.. mya, lumapit ako sa samsung guy, gulat ako dinig pala nya lht ng sinasabi nung taga LG and philips.. puro lies daw and below the belt mga hirit ng mga yn..
