Tanong ko lang po kung may paraan (crack?) para makapag output ng 720p o kaya 1080i sa component out ng Pioneer 696. Progressive scan kasi ang tv ko na kaya ang 720p at 1080i component input.

I have this double conversion in mind   Would this work guys?
hdmi to Dvi(converter)---->dvi to component(converter)--->component input

I don't think that there are firmware updates or cracks do upconersion via component.  What is your input port ba sa TV mo?  Component lang?  Walang hdmi or dvi? If that the case, you need the samsung player and not the 696.

Nope this won't work as the HDMI will only cough out digital signals. It's not apples to apples sir. The HDMI-DVI converter s digital and most probably the DVI-component is analog.

On your interesting idea... 

hdmi to dvi ...no problem...that's just an adapter.
dvi to vga ...you need a dac (digital to analog converter)...

vga to component... yes, that exists... someone here at pinoydvd just sold one to someone looking for it 


however on hdmi directly to vga or component...

according to this it's illegal, hence it shouldn't exist, just like
