help creating a dvd...
« on: May 30, 2007 at 03:36 PM »
hi! meron po akong 2 cd na may movies...so ginawa ko po is i put them together using TMPeg Dvd Authoring software...my question po is after ko pong magawa yun yung size naman nya is more than 4.7gig so meaning dual disc pa dapat ang gagamitin ko para ma-burn ko toh..eh naisip ko yung mga pirated na dvds kasya lang sa normal dvd disc..so papano ko ba mgagawa na yung size lang nya is sakto lang para sa normal blank na dvd disc? ano pa pong software pwede kong gamitin kaysa sa current na ginagamit ko..thanks...

lastly..after ko palang magawa yun...hindi pa sya image file..so papano ko magagawang image file yun? nakalagay sila sa 2 separate na folder: audio something..and video something..(kalimutan ko eh)
so na isip ko baka pag nagawa ko ng image file..pwede kong gamiting yung dvd shrink para mapaliit ko yung size and magkasya sa normal dvd...

Use a disk burning program, create a DVD, load the folders, and burn to an image file.

You're right, one option is to use a DVD-9 disc (about 8.5GB), it's more expensive at around P200+ per blank disc
compaired to a DVD-5 (4.7GB) at P8 to P16 typically.

Here's how those people do it.  Reduce a DVD to VCD quality.  You can now easily put 8 or more poor quality movies per DVD disc.  Sacrifice more video and audio quality, and you'll be able to fit more into a disk.

If you don't want to do that/unacceptable to you, convert your video to DivX format, and store DivX files in the DVD disc.  You can play DivX discs on a DVD player that supports DivX.  A Pioneer sells for less than P4K.

With DivX you can easily put 12x 45 minute shows (ie. 12 episodes) in one disc at HD quality.  If you try to convert back from DivX to DVD, you can probably put 4 DivX files at reasonable quality.  Doing this, takes a looooong time.  So I decided not to take DivX files and convert to DVD for playback on a non-DivX capable DVD player.

There's a number of software out there, just look for anything that converts your current file format to DivX or VCD or DVD, depending on what you decide.

You can look at Roxio, Nero Vision, Ulead, to mention a few.  You can also google for "mpg to divx" or similar programs.
