Are you asking for a LCD Monitor or LCD Tv?

For LCD Monitors, you can get a 24" to have a resolution of 1920x1200 - ill recommend Dell 2407 for it. ;)

Yes. I think you can use it (LCD Monitor) as regular TV but the problem is...How can you change channels? Wala po kasi remote ang LCD monitor. The best thing that I can think of is buying a cable box then use the remote of the cable box in changing channels or as you suggest a TV tuner(with remote).   ;)

Cable boxes (or even PC TV tuners) have remotes (I actually don't see one which doesn't have one nowadays)....

1900x1200 is normal now for 24"+ lcd monitors and yes..these are cheaper than lcd tvs! the reason is...this does not have a tuner, usually no inputs for composite, component, no speakers, no hdmi as well. aside from the lack of the tuner, this also has no upscaling hardware that enables you to output dvds full screen.

here are samsungs latest:

apple's cinema displays: (30" does 2560x1600!!!)

even 22" LCD monitors do 1680 x 1050 now and these are just around 15-20k php! :D

Higher than high definition for LCD monitors is the latest trend.

XHD (Extreme High Definition) is being promoted by NVIDIA's Quad SLI setup and Dell's 3007WFP monitor for gaming applications. Maximum resolution is 2560 x 1600.  Other XHD reolutions are 1920 x 1200 and 1680 x 1050.

Related to XHD is XD (Extreme Definition) for internet applications.  Resolution is 2560 x 1440.

Sana alam na ito ng mga mahilig magsabi ng salitang "future proof"  ;D ;D ;D

3007 was in my wishlist before -- Pero sad part sa Dell 3007, it's not yet HDTV ready (ata, wala pa kasi ako nababasang review about it) and walang other outputs like the 2407/2405...
