LBC and DHL does not send DVDs even if it's orig?
« on: Jun 15, 2007 at 12:13 PM »
I inquired to both DHL and LBC, both had similar answer regarding sending of DVDs even if they are original - they don't. And LBC said there's a fee pa raw to pay.

Something to do with the Piracy Law. Like, what if daw I will send those DVDs to somewhere to be copied?

Any thoughts on this?

I think they are crazy.  I don't think any law is violated by sending orig. DVD.

And pirates would be crazy too, if they send it to where they can be traced.
Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God.

bit of OT:

From my experience in LBC Tektike branch, their rates are higher & the personnel are unprofessional & rude.
lowest paid in the banking industry

I remember going to an Aboitiz (before they were known as 2Go) branch in Cubao and they told me that they don't accpet DVDs or CDs. I inquired in another branch and they didn't hassle me with the CDs and DVDs I wanted delivered. I think this is just plain bull$hit. Either they are abiding by an internal rule about delivering optical media or they just want to jack up their prices when DVDs or CDs are involved.

Yeah. Ang sabi nga po sa akin, how could they be sure that I'm NOT sending those dvds to some place to be copied.

And long story short, my word is not good enough daw.  :o

Maybe they didn't like my face.  :D

Just make sure to declare the value so you can pursue claims just in case.

Just came from a meeting with 2Go (formerly Aboitiz Express) representatives. Regarding sending DVD's, CD's, optical media, 2Go allows sending of these "even pirated" at regular package rates as long as it is well packed and shouldn't be more the 5 pcs (considered personal effects). More than 5pcs will be subject for investigation by customs.

Usually it is up to the outlets discretion if they accept or not.
