hi all!

pa post naman ng settings nyo during break-in period. not too familiar yet with the menu of the 42pv70.

doess this have an anti-burn in feature? the manual isn't too helpful. no mention of burn-in period also.

need your comments guys regarding PC input using HDMI.

ano max resolution?? yung maayos.. if not kahit PC input will be appreciated.

btw they told me burn-ins are a thing of the past so sa PC yung mga task bar laging andyan yan d kaya makaaffect?? and with regards with the non-magnetically shileded speakers ok lng ba itabi sa plama na to?? some people say it's ok??

hi bro congrats on your purchase! yup the manual isnt too helpful puro basic lang. my settings are all less than half and set to dynamic. depends on your preference as well.

This has got to be the best plasma bargain to date with top features and a picture quality to rival the venerable CRT tube reference displays. All good things to those who want to upgrade. Patience is a virtue.

sir,

I dont own one but during my visit to theaterworks, I experimented on the best setting using your current gears which I was allowed to tinker with for 30 mins. Using a P*DVD "ENVY" , R1 The Last Samurai and R3 Incredibles. IMHO, Clearly there was a difference  jumping from 480i and 480p to either 720p and 1080i or 1080p using all the titles. Using the non-animated films I couldn't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p or it might be too little to be noticed on a 42 inch display. But when I was viewing Incredibles, it was really INCREDIBLE at 1080p setting! just my two cents. Hope this helps. ;)

ako i use 720p. look at my previous posts. you will hardly see any difference between 720p and 1080p since the source is not HD

cheap price? uh uh. now i remember why i promised myself to no longer look at any of the plasma threads or the offers at the audio-video stores threads.  >:(

oh well.  ;D such is life. the minute you buy something, it's immediately obsolete and worse, more expensive than the newest models. hahaha!

Best that i can gather, the difference between the 42pv70 and 42pv7 are as follows:

constrast ratio - 10,000:1 versus 8,000:1
3,072 Equivalent Steps of Gradation versus 2,048 steps of gradation
Sub-Pixel Controller versus none
2 HDMI versus 1 HDMI
2 SCART (not sure what this is) versus none
1 Component versus none

any idea what SCART is?

the questions are, what is the price difference between the 2, and are the above features of the 42pv70 worth the extra price? shades of the 32r81 versus 32s81 dilemma in the past.

maybe Jeff can indicate if the above specs are accurate and if there are any other changes apart from those indicated.

yey sa wakas nakuha ko na yung tv. So far ok naman. TV is ok pero iba parin yung Old tv. yung DVD sobrang ganda. Currently testing Gothika at 1080p. Yung Amp at xbox360 hindi ko pa nakabit. Yung 360 after na cguro ng break in period  ;D

Question lang, Dati kasi gumagamit pa ako ng converter na may RCA out. Sabi nung nagdeliver ng TV, masOk parin daw gamitin yung converter. mas malinaw daw kesa direct sa tv yung coax. Agree ba kayo d2?

ang isa ko palang feedback dito, ang init! hehe. feeling ko, room temperature goes up by a few degrees when it is open.  ;D

the best thing? it rekindled my love for movies. i used to buy dvds and not watch them. after months, the dvd would still be wrapped and i have to force myself to watch just to make sure that the dvd is fine. right now, i try to watch a movie every night (or half of it). its like watching a movie in a moviehouse! what a beauty to watch!

Haay katatapos ko lang buhayin yung old HT namin. Kaya lang may prob. Nagloloose ata yung sub output ng amp. Walang lumalabas na sound tapos may magcclick na sound tapos may lalabas na subs for a few sec. tapos mawawala agad. Bitin tuloy manood ng dvd

What is the native resolution of this beast when hooked up on a PC using a DVI -VGA cable?

And reading some reviews, this is 1080p ready (not full hd) right? So, my PS3 can upsalce this upto 1080p when playing games or it will still be downscaled on 720p/1080i just like other hdtvs which are only upto 1080i.

Thanks

Fait

Hi fait, if you played 1080p games or bluray film, it will automatically convert to 1080p. ;)

I've decided its time to jump to the plasma/lcd bandwagon so I've started reading up.  Q lang to you guys who have this unit, did the 340 watts bump up your Meralco bill significantly?  Seems a lot for a TV. I suppose like size LCD TV's consume less power?

sir, when your using pana equipment such as videocam, dvd, digicam via hdmi you can control the tv using your players remote or your tv's remote to control all that is link w/the hdmi.
 vice versa lang sir.

bump. for all those who've had their viera's longer than me. feedback?

also, after using the tv, do you turn off (instead of leaving on standby), turn off the AVR or line conditioner and remove the plug?
