bump. for all those who've had their viera's longer than me. feedback?

also, after using the tv, do you turn off (instead of leaving on standby), turn off the AVR or line conditioner and remove the plug?

If your out of town yes you should unplug it. This applies to all lcd or plasma, power off dapat dont leave it on stand by. :)

@Nemesis91,

thanks.

all,

inip na ako sa 100 hours burn-in. i like watching dvds with subtitles and i can't, because i have to zoom to avoid the black bars and only the first lines or words appear in the subtitles, or worse, none. darn it  ;D have only about 10-12 hours of use so far. 90 more to go :(

 ;D On my unit, 100 hrs break-in using freeTV channel 7 or 2, max zoom to crop out logos, 10 hrs per day for 10 days.

After break-in, normal DVD viewing na.  After 8 months of regular use, no burn in or IR whatsoever from black bars or station logos or anything else.  I sometimes check with an all-white screen using the free plasma break-in DVD downloaded from:

http://www.eaprogramming.com/downloads/download_main.htm

From the author:

It is basically a set of 20 images that are 720p native resolution. The images are full screen colors so that the entire screen is 1 color at a time. The colors go from a white to a dark grey in 5 gradients, white to blue in 5 gradients, white to green in 5 gradients and white to red in five gradients.

You should have both, but the file that should be loaded will depend on the burning software.

I use DVDDecrypter, where the file that should be loaded is the mds file.

congrats on the new purchase. I guess with any plasma tv, ideal talaga ito for movie watching. If you use it as a monitor, inggat lang sa burn-in.

Do plasma panels really emit more heat than their LCD counterparts?

an average 42 plasma will require an average of 340watts while its counterpart LCD will require an average of 280watts....so yes mas magastos ang plasma  :o

Thanks guys for the replies. I was contemplating on replacing my 37" LCD w/ a plasma. But during these times that we are minimizing our electric consumption, I think it wouldn't be practical on my circumstances (coz i usually watch without A/C & just a fan for air circulation).  I'll just stick with my LCD then.
