Your recommended 26" LCD TV
« on: Jul 30, 2007 at 01:46 PM »
Di pa ako nakaka-ikot sa mga A/V shops, my budget is only good for a 26 incher and I'm also new to LCD TV's.

anong brand ma i-suggest nyo for a 26" LCD TV?

I was looking at a Panasonic and Samsung (both 26). Panasonic 26 inchers are 5k-6k more expensive compared to a samsung 26 incher, according to AVID's website.

I wouldn't mind the price difference for as long as I get quality products, are samsung LCDs that good, been reading samsung horror stories here.

Any other brands you like to recommend.

thanks very much

samsung has been suffering from quality control issues lately (not all models though but most), i was about to get a samsung 50"plasma but backed out...youre better off with the panasonic. I personally have a 27" syntax lcd which ive had for 3years now and am happy with it. It had a single dead pixel on the 3rd month but they replaced it with a new one. Since then it was worry free. Paid a lot for it back then (equivalent to a 37" now :().
84" 100" 120" 150" Motorized or Manual Projector Screens still available. Just pm.

go for a 32... too little of a price difference for the additional 5 inches.

Sir I think OK na yung price nung Toshiba for a 26-incher. Saan po ba yung shop na nag-o-offer niyan?

go for a 28" VIEWSONIC 1080p monitor !!!! @ p32k ..... it's got hdmi input so that solves upscaling DVD and HD source ...... only drawback is .... it is a monitor and not an LCD TV so no built in tuner .... but an external tuner is not os expensive

I'm not sure if we have the same situation. I opted to get a 26" inch due to limited space.  Hindi kasya ang 32" sa cabinet ko..

Sad to say mas maganda ang offer ng 32" sa 26".  Mostly na nakita kong 26" ay nasa 40+ ang price.. (hitachi, toshiba).  Yung nasa less than 40T ang nakita ko ay yung nasa Philips which is 35K (SM Makati).  Ang problem lang the unit has no HDMI input ... DVI-D lang... I got the MAG innovision 26" feature mas ok sa philips and the price.. 29K lang...

btw, both has 800 contrast ratio.  Is this bad?  I notice that others have already 1K+ contrast ration.

so far ok naman.. (for the price)... yung mga nag kaproblema ng MAG sa internet had a manufacturer date ng 2007-Jan.. Mine has July 2007.. siguro nasolve na ng MAG innovision ang problema..

btw, the sound quality is not good.. pero acceptable. picture quality ok naman.  I tried 480p and its better than the S-VIDEO input.. Wala palang akong pang test sa 720 and 1080i

daming nagkaproblema sa blackout yung mga taga US.. Pero eto yung 32" model... pero may mga user naman na satisfied sa unit, except don't compare it with some well known brand such as samsung... sa manual kasi 800 lang ang constant ratio ng 26" ...

Presently, I cannot find any info about the 26".. baka kasi bagong model ng MAG... since ang manufactured date is july, 2007.. hopefully tumagal naman sana... BTW, I decided to get MAG because it is a well know monitor brand in computers over skyworth.. Pareho lang sila ng presyo..

ah ok, thanks for the info. All im after naman is to get an LCD which would free up space in my room. Right now kasi i have a 29" CRT which is taking up way too much space. By the way, from what store did you get your MAG?

Many pinoydvd members found Philips not a durable brand. See 'Philips Full HD 1080p lcd' thread posted at the Pinoy flat panel tv section.

Since the price difference between 26" and 32" in not that far, you may wish to consider the Panasonic 32LE7 for picture quality, durability, and the price. This TV is selling only at P33K. However, if the space is an issue, you may consider the 26" Samasung LA26R71 at P28500. This TV can also perform good picture quality. By the way Samsung also has a good back up of after-sales service.

I considered a 26" LCD TV before since my viewing distance in my rectangular room is around 2.5 to 3ft, however upon learning that the 16:9 26" is basically a wider 20" 4:3 TV, I decided to just save some more cash to buy a 32.
Di pa naman ako naduduling sa 32" even viewing at a near distance.

Samsung 26R71 is on display at the shop. Hope you can ask my staff to help you locate the unit. Kamukha kasi lahat ang design ng Samsung. Sometimes, customers are confused of their sizes.
